The actual improvement is that there is one more magazine, and the recoil of the FG42 type II is reduced a lot compared with the FG42.

It’s not a 1 for 1 match - the Soviets have other advantages that offset this particular situation.

The whole game is supposed to be a series of asymmetric balances - the weapons or equipment that look to be equivalents are not actually exactly equal, often nowhere near equal.

But what one side loses in 1 weapon it gains somewhere else.

Sadly it has been done very badly.

Because you can’t give a LMG to every soldier - nor a SMG for that matter of course.

Calling SMGs a ā€œjokeā€ because they are not LMG’s makes you look like a fool - the Soviet SMG’s are very good - arguably much more superior to the German SMG’s than the German LMG’s are to the Soviet LMG’s.

And the P-4 in Berlin is a dead weight for the Axis!

Tbh most things allies got isnt even good or worth grinding.

But this isnt even worst comparison in update. Go check moscow.

Allied got scoped avs and axis scoped stgšŸ˜€

Those are sniper 3 squafs so people can just run with 3 stg squads and destroy opposing players who mainly use bolt actions.

Also do you know SMG is a pain for 100ms PING players? Lots of bullets are missing even if I am at 0 Packet Loss! It takes PPSH 10 bullets to kill one.

I guess this is because it means the snipers can be sniper, AND assaulter, AND gunner all in the 1 soldier - vey versatile! Give the squad an engineer and there’s pretty much nothing else you ever need.

Wow. You complain smgs aren’t very good, but then admit the real reason: your internet or potato cpu. Seriously I have no troubles countering mg42 even with the BOX mag ppsh.

100ms PING 0 PL isnt poor at all! And are you kidding with my ZEN3 CPU?
This game has serious net coding issue. And I believe at least a quarter of players has poorer internet than me. What about the balance for them?
Also, if a MG42 can be killed by a box PPSH, that soldier mostly should be a BOT. I hardly get killed from my viewing angle by infantry excluding grenades if my MG42 has ammo.

Germains love the bitch and moan about the PPD/PPSh, but it is nothing compared to some dickhead with an MG-34.
SMGs don’t OHK entire squads in half a second
The amount of damage I’ve done just with a single MG-34 in my rifle team is insane. The ā€œnerfā€ gutted moving fire with the soviet LMGs but made the MG even better in CQC in most engagements

I’ve felt the high RPM smgs have hitreg issues for awhile too
PPD should kill in 2-3 shots just looking at the damage alone, but you have to hit someone 5+ time to actually down/kill them
The sfx doesn’t help the feeling either

I sadly believe it isn’t due to hitreg, all shots do register well, I tested a theory in Moscow with box ppd. Bullets simply don’t deal as much damage with ppd ppsh line of smgs. Even though they have listed stats showing the same damage values as other regular smgs.

I can see the soldier flinch each times hit, and he can take 4-5 hits before going down (at close range). Should take 2 based on stats…

Secret balance adjustment from devs?
