Because you canāt give a LMG to every soldier - nor a SMG for that matter of course.
Calling SMGs a ājokeā because they are not LMGās makes you look like a fool - the Soviet SMGās are very good - arguably much more superior to the German SMGās than the German LMGās are to the Soviet LMGās.
And the P-4 in Berlin is a dead weight for the Axis!
Also I can equipped LMG to most of my present in match soldiers, Because I primarily use LMG squads
Also do you know SMG is a pain for 100ms PING players? Lots of bullets are missing even if I am at 0 Packet Loss! It takes PPSH 10 bullets to kill one.
I guess this is because it means the snipers can be sniper, AND assaulter, AND gunner all in the 1 soldier - vey versatile! Give the squad an engineer and thereās pretty much nothing else you ever need.
Wow. You complain smgs arenāt very good, but then admit the real reason: your internet or potato cpu. Seriously I have no troubles countering mg42 even with the BOX mag ppsh.
100ms PING 0 PL isnt poor at all! And are you kidding with my ZEN3 CPU?
This game has serious net coding issue. And I believe at least a quarter of players has poorer internet than me. What about the balance for them?
Also, if a MG42 can be killed by a box PPSH, that soldier mostly should be a BOT. I hardly get killed from my viewing angle by infantry excluding grenades if my MG42 has ammo.

SMGs donāt OHK entire squads in half a second
The amount of damage Iāve done just with a single MG-34 in my rifle team is insane. The ānerfā gutted moving fire with the soviet LMGs but made the MG even better in CQC in most engagements

Iāve seen plenty of people dominate with it provided they donāt position like an animal
Iāve felt the high RPM smgs have hitreg issues for awhile too
PPD should kill in 2-3 shots just looking at the damage alone, but you have to hit someone 5+ time to actually down/kill them
The sfx doesnāt help the feeling either
I sadly believe it isnāt due to hitreg, all shots do register well, I tested a theory in Moscow with box ppd. Bullets simply donāt deal as much damage with ppd ppsh line of smgs. Even though they have listed stats showing the same damage values as other regular smgs.
I can see the soldier flinch each times hit, and he can take 4-5 hits before going down (at close range). Should take 2 based on statsā¦
