It has been my experience that Polls increase engagement on forum posts, people are way more likely to place a “yes” vote on a suggestion than they are liking the same post.
Not only that, it’s a effective tool to show dissatisfaction with a post too, rather than having to spend the time making a reply or finding a already sceptical reply that aligns exactly with your beliefs… Now you can just click “No” and get on with your day.
In short, this simple function will do a lot to make the silent majority make their voices heard (silently).
Thank you.
Edit: I managed to write a forum post about Polls, without adding a poll, I apologise for my mistake, here it is:
Do you like having Polls back?

yep, this is a super nice change and helps a lot with feedback, since now you can see that even a suggestion that doesn’t seem to have much traction does end up having 40+ votes

I hate polls. But I would welcome it if they made it public all the time.

If you read my entire message, you will understand what I mean.
Polls should not be private, because that would lead people to vote based entirely on their personal biases.
Also, the English forum is not representative of the community. You can remember the story of the expansion of BR Moscow and Tunisia to 5, where the polls in the English forum, the Russian forum, YouTube and Reddit were completely different, which shows that these polls are not completely valid.
Overall I agree with the debate, and I will accept the poll only if all players are asked. Not just the English forum.
Of course, polls can increase user interaction, but these polls should be public so that people don’t vote baselessly and based on taste.

I’m more so against this… prevents from actual engagement… however for disagreeing yes does make it cut and clear instead of just showing dislike in the comments.

No, polls are not very telling. But they can be very easily taken advantage of.
Overall, the forum is in complete mess after the recent changes. I think I’ll stop visiting it. I don’t see the point anymore.
