Enlisted opened up for a pre-alpha test for Moscow on April 1st, 2020.
It included a unique way to unlock gear since the economy wasn’t done.
Players unlocked new gear by simply playing the game, the better you played = the more chances for weaponry to be given to your squad members. (This was before gun ranking was a thing and guns were used as is). However, the was a catch to unlocking other higher tier gear.
A player would earn Squad Points as the primary currency to upgrade soldiers/weapons[1].
Players would have to go to their Army Supply Upgrades tab and use their Squad Points to unlock the new options of gear that a specific soldier unit could reasonably use.
[1] = Weapons as in, when a player spent their Squad Points on the linear list, the opportunity for such weapons can NOW appear from playing the game naturally AND the chance for the RNG gatcha system the game had back then. It would also give a single free gun copy as well.
Does this ring a bell? Let me rephrase it in another way down below.
Two in game currencies - Silver Cards for troops/weapons + Squad Points.
A pseudo progression tree to unlock gear that fits the theme of a soldier class.
Obviously the gatcha elements, getting gear from playing a match, and the linearity of this old Army Supply tab is not going to return, but the foundations of such a rework system for Enlisted could have already been in the works since BEFORE the game released to OBT in 2021.
[Speculation]
Squad Points = Research Points - They could functionally stay the same to be honest.
Silver Cards T/W = Silver (main) - Used to buy the items unlocked with Research Points.
Thanks for reading my walk down memory lane. Now cope at the image below.
I very very rarely saw people spam explosives back when you could do this
Its hilarious
Open the F2P floodgates and all the scum came in
Like flipping a switch
Honestly I’d have even been okay with a subscription thing like a year for the same price as premium
Weed out the scum and cheaters just that much more
I dont think it was different if was a payed game, sure in some aspect maybe was more friendly but, its a gaijin game, in some way they force you give them money on regular basis
Imagine pay a game 60€ and find
tedius grind tree
part of the game selled as dlc at the same price of the base game
premium subscription
monetized battlepass
premium collectors selled at the same price of the base game
And this is not something new mostly live to service p2p game today do this because, wy get the money 1 time if you can get them everday?
7 grenades may make others quake, but I played BF3 before they nerfed the grenade resupply timer. Every round of Seine Crossing Rush became a baseball game.
