Tanks targeting is too powerful

I have been playing solidly for the last few weeks, being a new player. I think the game overall is great; apart from tanks that can see and shoot through brick walls from halfway across the map. It drives me insane to be seeking around the map, watching my cover. Only to be shot at by a tank miles away, that has no line of sight. If tanks could be made more historically accurate, and dumbed down a little that would be great.

You’re dying from the blast radius and it gets much better for the tanker if he sees any of your squad and shoots them.

So overall lock your AI in the closet and do not have them following you because they give away your position.

So how do you go about stopping the AI from following? Just given them an order to protect something?

You can order them to run to the objective or if you can find a way into an attic you can lock your AI’s up there.

And if none of that work be aware of where the tank kill zones are and find ways around it

Thanks for the tip. Will see how it goes.

And if it’s at all possible make sure your soldiers are not wearing bright uniforms because that catches tankers eyes when uniforms stick out

Aim at the ground and press X to order them to hold that position.

Personally i feel like tanks should have bigger consistent HE radius - but overall a smaller killzone, so that even small caliber guns are effective just not necessarily deadly.

u can blame the fov slider

Have been using X to command the units around. Seem to be dying less often, and capturing more strategic points too. So thanks for the tips.

What does the field of view slider do?

Want cannonballs that can’t kill anyone?
Is it possible that even armor-piercing rounds don’t have enough aftereffects to detonate ammunition racks or kill personnel?
your enemies will thank you

It widens the field of view. You will have a wider view. You can try it ingame. Higher values also demand more performance. I have infantry at 85 and vehicle 90.
