During the first time when Enlisted was available for the Moscow Public Play Test I remember seeing more tanks available for germany, such as the Stug, SturmPanzer and others I can’t remember, it would of been fun to play then like the Stug as a Infantry assault tank and the SturmPanzer as a SPG, their models were in game and I doubt they were place holders, it sucks that we can’t try different tanks that fulfil different role’s and I also remember the Soviets had the KV-2, KV-1 and others. So what happened to them?
This is still CBT state. That many tanks from previous Playtest will available later if this CBT is going out well, I think.
i honestly don’t know what to say.
initially, there were a lot of vehicles, than they aimed for “balance” by putting tanks that are " semewhat " similar.
no one knoes what happened to the other tanks, if those will be added, or what.
from what i can see and presume, germany would had too many troubles by trying to counter the russian tanks. because kv1s, kv2s, t34s were not the equal of panzer 3s, 4s and stugs. for how much it would have been realistic, it wasn’t going to be a fun gameplay experience for any of them.
i don’t know if this is truee, or not, but i heard by others that the stalingrad campaign is confirmed through datamine. so i think we will see those there. along side tigers, pz4s and maybe stugs.
but again, it’s hard to tell due to the fact that this game claims to be realistic with tanks that never saw combat in moscow in the first place. and other strange details/mechanics. according to datas and sourches, ( speaking of the BA-11 and Pz3b ).
so i guess we’ll see with time.
It would’ve been nice to have tanks of different variety, like infantry support and SPG, but instead we get tanks that are somewhat similar to each other, I know that panzer 3’s and 2’s would be totally outclassed by KV-1 and T-34’s. And that they want to put in tanks that actually served in the Moscow campaign
However here are some suggestion from me that they could add
Germany:
SPG: SturmPanzer
Infantry Support: Stug 3
Light Tank: Panzer 2
Medium tank: Panzer 3
Soviet
SPG: SU-122
Infantry support: could be SU-122 again (?)
Light tank: BA-11or T-60
Medium tank: maybe a prototype T-34 or a BT-7 light tank (?)
there was a post, and a suggestion about it.
more precisely here;
but i disagree.
because those would require one spot. and if someone is going to take a light tank, someone else won’t be able to use heavy tanks.
this system would bring more specific limations. which, right now, can’t be done. due to the map that are very smaller, and the low ammount of players we have.
in the future, this might be included in some discussion.
because i don’t know how much is gonna be fun for a pz2 encounter t34s.
this is why at the moment we only have t26s, pz3s, bt5/7s, pz2s, and t60s.
because even if they works differently, have different guns, and armors, but they can still pen each other.
Well I’ll leave the progression system suggestions to more experienced players, but as of right now all the tanks feel similar, I believe that the Pz 2 is better than all other Moscow Tanks, it can pen all of them frontally and has good protection, I would like more variety in Armoured Vehicle, but without the Russian bias, like T-34’s facing Pz 2 and 3.
However the upgrade tree in game could eliminate some problems by upgrading tanks to play more specific roles, like an anti-infantry upgrade but then is less effective against other tanks, but all in all, I hope future campaigns will have Tanks that preform a specific role like tank destroyers and armoured cars for scouting and/or anti-infantry support
Sturmpanzer II (the only one that available in WT) is only deployed in combat operation in North Africa so they see no action in eastern front, but the 88mm flak bus operated in small number in eastern front from the start of operation barbarossa, SU-122 would not see combat debut until late 1942. Historically the early T-34 and KV tank were only small margin of soviet armored division, most tank fielded by Soviet in 1941 campaign is T-26, BT tank and T-28. T-34 and KV would be likely added as penultimate Soviet campaign progress tank.
I excieted to see this compaign. During the battle of Moscow it will be great to se BA-64
ofr soviets and Leichter Panzerspähwagen (2 cm), Sd.Kfz.222.
yeah, i would love to see those, and maybe, also light vehicles, halftrucks, and much more.
the problem is, right now, maps are too smaller for those vehicles. and there aren’t many players that could counter those aside from tanks.
but we’ll see ^^
