Tankgewehr M1918

The Tankgewehr M1918 was a WW1 anti-tank rifle made by Germany. I think in game it would sit in a folder with the PzB-38 that way it doesn’t get in the way of grinding and so that all people can get it like most WW1 weapons in game. (P.S. Dear enlisted devs, please add this, I need it for my AT gun in the MP18 Squad)

As well as ww1 theme stahlhelm too. Wito or without the strappanzer. (I think that’s how you spell it)

I mean technically its basically already in game as the Sholokhov ATR, a soviet event squad.

As for the actual Tgewehr, I dont know how you could justify it, I havent been able to find a single piece of evidence of its use in WW2.

At absolute best, you could justify it by sayings I guess, “Maybe some partisan or etc had one buried in his barn and it might have had a use for shooting at trucks?”. Even then, at least one picture of it in use in WW2 would be nice, could be a fun gimmick to get an event guerrilla squad with an AT soldier who was weapon locked to something like the Tgewher?

By 1933, the newly organized Wehrmacht was armed with about 1000 M 1918 rifles. Until the end of World War II, this weapon was used as a training weapon in the rear units of the army, and in 1945, according to some reports, it entered service with the Volkssturm.

In 1940, the Finnish army purchased 100 Mauser Tankgewehr M 1918 anti-tank missiles from Great Britain. Finnish engineers tried to convert the rifle to the 13.9 mm caliber cartridge from the British-issued Beuys rifle, which was also in service in Finland. However, the conversion experience was unsuccessful. In the Finnish army, M 1918 rifles remained in service until 1944, although there is no information about the combat use of this weapon. In addition, according to some reports, a batch of Mauser M 1918 rifles ended up in the army of General Franco and was used in the civil war of 1936-1939 in Spain.

So far I think all of Germany’s WW1 weapons have been permanently available. I don’t want this one to break that.

No it wouldnt I suppose, and tbf, its a massive downgrade over any other ATR, so even if it was made the main tree weapon, Id imagine it would be very rare if foldered.

fair point

Not really, as there is no proper WW1 Gewehr 98 in TT for example. The closest to it is Trench event one, the TT sniper Gewehr 98 rifle has a bent bolt.
As for other WW1 guns that arent permanently available, we can also count event Mondragon rifle, stock Luger and C96 pistols, or the MP18 which is a premium
