using the different views in the tank cupolas take forever. instead of using the mouse wheel I think it would work better if you could look through the view ports using the free look like how the commander can look around without moving the cannon when he is sticking out of the tank

the commander is not the only one with a hatch on most tank. it could be cool to look out of the drivers hatch if you need a better view when driving around the countless obstacles on some of the maps

can the machine gunner actually use the machine gun. The AI can use stationary machine already so why can they use a hull machine gun

it would be nice if we could unload a shell from the cannon without shooting it and reload it with a different type of shell for example instead of just wasting an AP shell when we want to switch to HE we can just change it out.
edit: based on what is being said I will change #4 to having the ability to not load in a round until you are ready

the machine gun overheat is excessive. I would suggest it to be changed to after X number of bullets are fired then a “barrel change” happens (for example the mg42 had to get it’s barrel swapped every 250 rounds)

I think it would be cool if you could get out of the tank and mark enemies and the your soldiers would fire the cannon at the mark.

It’s not really realistic. Though I guess nobody cares.
Anyway, imo it would be better to remove automatic loading of the gun and make it manual (or at least make it an option is the settings). Often I’d rather not have a round loaded and select it after finding my target than to fire and reload giving away my position. And just loading is faster than unloading and loading.

I definitely agree with this one. I hotkey for changing view would be nice instead of scroll wheel. Or at least the ability to change this key input would be much appreciated.

I greatly agree with this one. I’ve tried posting various suggestions with this in mind.
Its definitely needed to help make pushing forward actually a viable option, so they can cover the angle they are facing and the player can turn the turret to deal with what they need to without being defenseless from that direction.

the one i look forward the most is the first suggestion, at least making the movement more direct and fast (instead of having useless zoom out/zoom back in) would be better.
instead of 4, i support @VoyoMayPL take that you don’t start with a shell loaded.

Source? I’ve read this many times but nobody says why. WWII tanks with single piece ammunition should have been able to extract live round the same as casings. The m3 Sherman had an automatic extractor: all you would need to do is open the breach and catch the shell.
I could be wrong, maybe it’s impossible, but I’d like to see a manual or contemporary source to back up this internet claim. A brief Internet search mainly comes up with unsourced claims in warthunder forums
I do agree the main gun should be manually loaded either way.
These are all great suggestions, I would love if my AI crewmates could use the hull MGs.
