Tank interactions: most if not all medium and heavy tanks have more then 1 machine gun ports so why can we only use 1 and a mounted machine gun but anyway for the hull gun ports should be fully ai controlled if the player is not directly controlling the person same applies if theres a 3rd+ gun ports (mostly russian tanks)
If a person climbs on a tank and has a pistol you can press a button near a OPEN HOLE to get into a animation that sticks the pistols barrel thro the hole and fires a bullet killing anyone in the hole some tanks did have bullet proof glass for the drivers views and some didnt (from what i can tell)
P.s. just a side not anything and everything should be able to go thro at least the engine bay top metal theres always giant holes and besides there the metal is like 5 centimeters thick so i should be able to damage the engine with a at rifle i found out the hard way that you cant with a change of pants
P.p.s theres 1 thing that i always wanted to do the ability to shoot down the barrel of a tank and set the loaded shell off by shooting it with a bullet or another tank shell

I don’t see the point of giving tank ai controlled mg. Tank is already strong enough, no point to further buff them.
That’s how tanks behaved in real life. Imo it’s a good enough reason to add hull MGs.

without near by ally’s tanks are extremely vulnerable i proved that with 1 of my battles besides there no down side to have it

Well there is no magical grey zone and ai seeing through bush in real life.

you can see tho bushes that also depends on how thick the bush is anyway
If you are talking about situation that you are outside the grey zone. It won’t do much to protect you against infantry since most of them flank so your hull mg won’t able to target them.
No down side for tank, but infantry will be more easily killed by tank.
by grey zone do you mean the end of the playable area also there are still blind spots even with the functional gun ports sense they can only shoot at only withs infront of them and they can be easly dodged if your paying attention also the ai are terrible shots im failing to see why you dont like these ideas that i think should be in the game a long time ago also tanks neeed the extra protection sense everyone just abandons you immediately instead of supporting you
That is what I said, it will barely protect you when enemy is trying to attack you. But you can point it to the capture zone to slaughter enemy that is not trying to attack you.
Not really with machine gun.
Tanks are squishy AF. A single det pack or launcher and it is basicly done for.
Giving tanks the AI controled mg might help them survive on the front line better and would in fact encourage them to leave the grey zone.

If you give tanks no reason to leave the grey zone then why should they?
There are only a few tanks that can somewhat survive on the front line and those can only do it by just nukeing everything infront of them non stop.
But the moment you stop shooting you quickly get overrun by enemy infantry.
A hull mg won’t help against people that is trying to flank you. Frontal charge of enemy can be easily taken out by your existing armaments.
Nah, it will just increase the efficiency of farming enemy in the grey zone since you can target more enemy with hull mg when you are far away.
Still no match against the protection of the grey zone.
How will that help you when camping?
The AI would not try to shoot at people to far away so the damage is wasted.
That is what the turret is for. It allowes a tank to shoot sideways and the mg might delay a frontal assault long enough until your turret can turn forward again to pick off the last soldiers.
still need a but of protection even if people arnt giving you it
Such frontal assault against tank is rare anyway, only those inexperienced player will do it and is often worthless. Flanker will just flank you from the angle that you are not looking to. You won’t even have the chance to notice them.
It will give more offensive capability instead of protection.
That is why beeing on the frontline takes skill for positioning and vigilance. If your only defence to why not is a skill issuee than im confident that the grey zone is where you belong as that is less in need of skill.
Bruh if you have that much skill you surely don’t need an ai controlled mg to help you.
Currently, the MG gunner is usually the only crew member that doesn’t have a use other than being a spare crew member.
It would be nice if they had an actual role.
