Talking about sniper, killcam and long range

While the assault squads do their job, the snipers need to stay safe while supporting our boys.

Taking this in account, and the feature of long range kill, I suggest to modify the way the kill cam works With sniper class(or even just the weapon). I’m not saying to take it off, just to adjust it.

While the long range kill starts to count with a distance of 70m+, the player who realized the shot shouldn’t be highlined in red to the taken down, it should just show the way where the shot came from, while magnify the cam at the shooter position(like 2/3 of the total distance). It could even show the sniper view when shot.

BUUUUUT

And here is the differential,

The long range kill would just start to count with a distance of 130m.

I think this way it would be more accurate historically, where the sniper were feared by the enemy’s squads, making those squads taking more precaution when advancing.

What do you think?

  • It could work.
  • It could work, but with some changes(comment below).
  • It couldn’t work.

Tell me why it could’t work, please.
It makes all sense to me, but I wanna hear from you.

I’m just opposed to anything making sniping more attractive. Too many games lost because people just wouldn’t move to the objective.

That’s true, you have a point.
Maybe the dev team could add a max of snipers, like 3 sniper squads/match, like the armored vehicles.

I dislikes any buff that would encourages passive sniping game playstyle.

That being said, sniper squad itself is extremely, probably the most useless squad in the entire game with the maximum number of soldiers of a squad being limited to only 5 on top of the fact that Sniper class itself having - stats on vitality so couldn’t even be able to pick up 35% vitality perk so they are inherently fragile ended up bad at aggressive-CQC playstyle(For some reason, premium sniper squads don’t have this penalty). I think these issues should be addressed first.

you cant do that with the current spawn rules. f2p have 3 inf slots and 1 vehicle, not counting event squads which f2p may or may not have. locking sniper numbers could spawnlock players if their squad respawn rotations only leaves a sniper squad and a vehicle squad already in use.

Sniper squad are good for map with big open area like stalingrad or power plant but yea in most case they are very limited like mortar squad.

But i gotta say when it a one sided match sniper squad do feel nice to use since most of the enemy keep hiding in spawn.
