During the war on the Eastern Front, German forces encountered a lot of T34s of many variants, and often had captured many examples and used them, sometimes with modifications done to them to better fit what they needed. One such modification was adding a German commander’s cupola from panzer 2s and 3s, which the Russian tanks did not have one, and another common modification was the addition of Shürtzen side armor to protect the tracks and side. The particular version I propose adding is modeled in War Thunder, and it’s pretty similar to the T34 STZ, but it’s got a Panzer 2’s commander’s cupola installed on the turret, although other models of T34 were upgraded (see last image below, pattern 1941 T34 with a panzer 3’s cupola installed instead of a panzer 2’s). I think this could be an interesting event reward for BR3 because it’s a captured vehicle, but modified from how it was used by it’s original owners (captured vehicles should have at least some modification done to them after they were captured other than a paint job for it to be in game, otherwise it’s an exact copy from the TT with a different skin), and could be a nice contrast from basically only Panzer 4s on BR3.
As long as it doesnt come with that terrible yellow paint by default. I highly doubt that german tankers would leave their tanks yellow like that outside north african campaign
That would probably just end up being put in br 4 where it would be outgunned by tigers and panthers just like kv 1 zis 5. Despite this I still think it would be cool to see as a event reward perhaps
It would be good alongside the KV-1 with the German 75mm cannon, it would also be interesting to see some volunteer squads from the eastern countries although this would be quite difficult.
Not for certain at all, a lot did, even organised at the battalion level to do so, but there were many as well who didnt either for a lack of time, material or effort.
Hahaha, I see many saying that a captured T-34 would be great for Germany. Oh, it’s true, but when weapons like that are for other nations, it’s not right. It’s a copy and paste, it has no ideas, etc. I see so much hypocrisy in the comments.
