Swords

You get around to it?

Yeah, forgot about it. I focused on testing the distance that could be traversed before stamina ran out, but it appears its a quite complex thing to test.

Speed is indeed affected by what type of object you carry in your hands, as well as the total weight you carry. Not sure if soldier class too.
You move fastest when carrying grenades, then knives, then rifles, then heavy weapons.

Distance traversed before stamina runs out is the same regardless of what you have on your hands, so when sprinting its best to equip something that makes you traverse that distance faster.

The distance traversable or the effect of carried weight seems to be dependent on soldier class? Not sure, I have too few data, and AT mines seem to have an unexpected behaviour on the data, like if they were not supposed to be 8,5kg but much lighter, so I ahve difficulty finding a transformation to get a tightly fitting distribution

Oh cool. Did you compare hand grenade vs explosive pack? Also how about knife vs axe vs hammer vs sword?

Didnt try different melee weapons, but for what I tested they shouldn’t have any effect on how far you can sprint beyond their weight.

In terms of grenades, most are similar in weight (in Moscow at least): molotovs at 400g, smoke at 600g, frags as 515g.
I actually didnt try frags since molotovs and smokes had the same effect, but TNT is supposedly 1200g, and the difference with those was more noticeable:

  • Around 4 meters less of stamina by carrying them in soldiers, 2 meters less if carrying them in mortarmen (they are already slower).
  • Carrying other grenades in soldiers simply reduces stamina effect by 2 meters.

My test data:
stamina.txt (1.4 KB)
A weird libreoffice calc sheet I used to try and find some coherence:
stamina calc.zip (16.7 KB)

I would love to test more at some point, with more grenades and more soldier classes and weapons, but I need to upgrade my mortar squad and in general have more free time and maybe get help to measure distances.

Oh I was more interested in the speed rather than the stamina. Anecdotally, explosive packs seem slow.

I you run a more in-depth examination please keep us posted
