I am loving this game, but the most consistently frustrating and unfair thing I’ve had to deal with so far (I’m level 4-5 as allies on all campaigns) is switching to a prone squadmate while we are under fire, and my avatar suddenly stands up like a prairie dog. This takes away from the player’s control, and gives free kills and information to the enemy.
At least having a way in the settings to decide this for ourselves would be good. But in general I just want switching to not move the soldier that I’ve switched to.
I agree with you, but also I’d like to add that it whould be cool to do so when you enable “passive” mode for AI they always try to lie down when not moving, not dependent on player.
Right now your squad feels rather like bunch of babies eating crayons instead of soldiers.
Technically this isn’t an AI issue, but yeah, but I don’t necessarily expect huge strides in the bot AI. I think lying down is the safest thing they can do to not be shot, which makes sense to me for passive mode. They will probably be pretty simple for most of the game’s lifespan which I can tolerate. I wish they also wouldn’t run into my line of fire, but I digress.
My real issue is when I switch it’s now my character standing up into gunfire without me telling it to, which is very frustrating.
