Switch Jumbo and M10 in normandy

For some reason developers decided to add Jumbo in rank 20 and M10 in last one, meanwhile they’re literally the complete oppposite. Having to fight Jumbos with Pz IV H (both rank 20) will result in like 70% of getting one tapped in the turret, meanwhile their turret and front armour is literally thicker than Tiger’s. On the other hand, fighting M10s, supposedly their best tank (due to it being last in campaign) balance can be felt so much better. Both IVs and M10s have similar characteristics and can kill each other fairly easily, I would say encountering M10s is even exciting, since the battle will result just purely on skill and reaction time.

Isnt M10 an rly good Tank Destroyer ?

never had any issues with them just wiping out everything in one shot, most of the time it just ends up knocking out the crew one by one

(they do pack a punch, but it’s not a nuclear blast)

So its an high pen shooter as i suspected  No armor is best armor kind of thing ? xD

1:1 armour*

Havent tried it yet as i havent tried my Panther in the garage, but think M10 its an Sniper kind of tank though due to its open top asw. But yeah could be something to that but the killing tank as it is might be hard for the others at that range which Jumbo already is though in that regard so you might be right there for sure…

Only tank i tried in Normandy is the Recon one but i did kill an M4A2 tank or what they are called with it so i love that one  But its also because of its agility

yup they should be swapped, firefly should be included to campaign in later lvls somewhere, i dont really see a place for open top tank destroyers and self propelled artillery pieces like M8, M10, and italian semovete in this game now, especially for people who doesnt camp grey zone which itself is total crap gameplay

i hope in future they will be more useful because now its more about your commander getting instant death and you are left with clumsy chunk of metal awaiting explosion pack that everyone has …

Well Actually… Steiner M10 isn’t a tank

Well it got armor, tracks and got an cannon so…

not a tank it’s an SPG

detailed enough then i guess

No seriously Steiner

yes and i knew you where but potato potata. Wolverine has always been seen as a tank in my eyes on the battlefield

I don’t use it much because if you get an Urban map it gets bodied hard.

M10 has one hell of a gun and was Americas strongest armed tank during the earlier parta of the war

You are right, in the war it was great but in this game, the M10 is not great. I see more Firefly than M10s so clearly this isn’t a fluke but a reality

What is and isn’t a tank is up for debate, but generally if a vehicle has these traits it can be identified as such: tracks, armor thick enough to stop small arms fire, and a cannon in an enclosed turret that can rotate.

While the m10 might pass the first two tests, it fails at the enclosed turret and falls into the odd not-quite-a-tank category of self-propelled guns.

Tank hunters are just as “useless” as fighter planes in this game, because in the end its about supporting infantry, and if you have no MG or just a very poor HE shell but a good AT gun - then you will force the enemy team to just stick to infantry and play the objective instead, which will result in the tank hunter wasting its time.

Even if the Panther counter would be a M36 Jackson instead of a M10 we would have the same problem.

Thus the only viable option for US to get fair gameplay would be a firefly or churchills, or even a Jumbo with the 76mm gun.
So we need non premium vehicles for the US that fulfill the “regular tank role” more.

its going to stay the same, just like fg42 being to all soldiers and m2 carbines being on a campaign it shouldnt be or the constant spam of ppsh on berlin/moscow. some things wont ever change stop trying.
