What’s the point of organizing your soldiers in your squads from top to bottom if in game when you die, you don’t switch to your 2nd soldier on the list when you quick swap?
Used to annoy me. Now i just use rosewheel to pick the guy i want.

In mid combat I feel pressing a key is quicker and should be utilized better for performance
What is the point of implementing different quick swap mechanic for normal swap and when you die?
It will just cause confusion and increase the likelihood of choosing the wrong soldier.
From what I remember, game swaps you to next not downed soldier. So check if soldier you want to switch to isn’t hurt.
Nope all soldiers perfect 100% health and no reason for random switch to bottom or middle instead of 2nd

Even a quick swap to the closest to the enemy would be better
I am not sure what you mean. The normal quick swap and quick swap when you are dead is exactly the same. Maybe you encounter some bugs?
