Suicide pilot fix

Since CAS bombs got nerfed the suicide bombing problem has become even worse since most pilots are shit and its the only way they can get kills now. Here is my suggestion to remedy this problem and keep them in the air using the resupply: add a killstreak xp bonus.

Nothing major, say like a 2% increase per kill (just for the pilot, not for infantry or tanks), just to incentivise attacker pilots to stay in the air and resupply. This would also make the fighters useful again as they would now have time to shoot down these planes instead of them just running straight into the ground with 6 250kgs. Unless you are a top tier pilot you won’t be matching tankers or infantry in xp gain so imo pilots needed a tiny xp bump anyway (if only to keep them from suicide bombing). Thoughts?

Ord add a penalty of 4 respawn before he can use another veichle, if the pilot die before the bomb explode.

Imo it won’t work.
If the enemy has a fighter, you will get better results by bombing and instantly suiciding brfore he can get you (it’s doable >99% of the time). Then just spawn in a new plane and repeat.

Pilots will wait 10s more after dropping bombs and then commit suicide.

you know it doesn’t matter if the pilot commit suicide later, what bothers is wiew them crashing like a retarded on the battlefield, watch them believing to do the right thing instead of give air support, if him drop and after 10 second kill himself just free the place for another one, who maybe knows how to use the plane without annoying allies and enemies

That’s why I suggested the xp bonus, it will incentivise at least SOME people to take the risk. Of course some people will still suicide bomb them but there’s no reason I can see that we couldn’t have harsher measures on top of this to stop this.

What bothers is a constant stream of planes droping bombs, suiciding, respawning, droping bombs…

So the plan is that there will be at least one player in the enemy team that has a moral backbone?
Sorry but I doubt.

for me until they dont crash on the ground is not a problem, honestly I got used to the explosions from the spammed artillery to the bombs that until recently killed you 100m away, the game has now started to become a fusion of battlefield and red orchestra 2 and I doubt that it changes, what we can do is limit certain behaviors, now I’m not saying that it is not a problem but between planes that bomb every 60 seconds and planes that crash on the ground every 60 seconds, I choose the first who can miss sometime, the second are like missiles they not miss

hey… not cool dude I’m a great attacker pilot

I just hate the suiciding cowards who kill themselves to get out having to actually be good at the plane game or will tag your ass when your going to resupply but the second you get back up they suicide and do it again but only this time I had to take time out of my busy schedule bombing the shit out of panthers to catch him before he can do anything.

basically what I’m saying is suicide pilots are trash and they need to be punished for being so.

That’s the whole point, so why:

Personally i am guilty of suiciding with the stuka since if a plane gets on my ass i might as well just cut the time short and just press escape and then suicide since their is no tailgunner and the dogfights feel even worse then playing bombers against the russians in warthunder.

Put on top of that, that most planes tend to be bulletsponges that even with a tailgunner it’s not worth the time to stay in the plane so might as well suicide and spawn in a fresh squad and be able to actually do something

Suicide pilots are a menace to my immersion but frankly… air gameplay is just the least exciting thing in Enlisted. I still want to get some level 5 pilots and finish all the upgrades for the air squads but… eh. I just wish Gaijin would offer the FM’s and DM’s of vehicles in general to Darkflow, but especially so for the planes.

In a team where everyone prioritises suicide bombing, suiciding IS the ideal thing to do as it gets around the cooldown before you can spawn another squad (a single player will have to wait a bit before spawning another plane even if they have multiple useful ones in their lineup). Assuming it’s a game mode where your team isn’t limited on tickets, naturally.

It takes much longer to return back to rearm and then back to bombing than it takes for someone else to spawn a new plane, and if you attempt to keep bombing while already hindered by damage from fighter or a bot AI bolt-actioning you from the ground it just gets worse.

A newly spawned plane starts closer than the rearm point, is at a decent altitude and pointed the right way with a good amount of speed. The planes in Enlisted are so underpowered that maneuvering sucks them of all energy and you can expect them to regularly fly at only half of their listed top speed. They feel more like ww1 planes with how they struggle to stay in the air.

I kinda hit often Trees because the JU 188 is far more sluggish now then 2-3 updates ago.

With how bad planes are I struggle to believe Gaijin is behind this. As well… War Thunder. The planes handle so wonderful there.

That said. Suicide is stupid.
The Junke dive bomber was not designed with safety systems to make it come out of it’s dives safely, just for numbnuts to crash straight into someones attic. Besides the engineer AA is kinda crud. Even as an attacker it’s better to bomb, circle around and hunt down enemy planes then resupply and bomb again. As being in the air is generally a better way to stop the enemy from dropping THEIR bombs.

In early CBT Tunisia, the Devs tested a mechanic where an autopilot took over when the plane was “X” meters from the ground and yoked up. It was impossible to crash (or to get close enough to take out a tank) This was only implemented on the 1st run after spawning.

That’s why I recommended in some other threads to have the plane start off with full weapon load on first spawn, and keep the weapon status between lives. So if all bombs were released before during a suicide bombing, first thing he needs to do is to turn around and rearm.

(This “keep the armament status” could be lifted if pilot has reloaded at least twice or spent more than 15 minutes between same plane’s spawns.)

Don’t you think it would help with the suicide bombing cases a bit?

Have new planes spawn over the objective but only armed with MGs. They would need to fly back to the re-arm point to load bombs.

THE biggest draw to using your plane as a guided missile is that it is the easiest way to get accurate bombs on target especially if you only want to knock out a particular tank or emplacement and then go back to playing whatever

the only solution to that problem would be to have bombs not explode after pilot death

I actually think it’s kinda better if they don’t stay up there whole game. I had a couple matches over the weekend where someone was hogging the attack aircraft for the whole game and not having much impact which was kind of annoying.

He was probably getting about 3 or 4 kills per run if that and had 0 tank kills by the end of the match which doesn’t really do much for the team and I wanted to get rid of their Panther tanks and soften up their ground defences before pushing on the ground. He was having no impact on the actual game and I’d rather have one more soldier squad on the ground pushing than someone messing around all game in attack aircraft which could be better used throughout the battle by various people.

I’d rather people go up do what they went up there to do like kill a JU 188 or destroy a tank then come down. If there was an aircraft park point that would be ideal.

I do have a problem with people who plane cycle and continuously suicide bomb because that’s obnoxious.
