With post merge enlisted quite a few issues have come up. Correct me if some of these issues have been resolved or what your thoughts on them are. So For the list we have…
- Unbalanced BR in a couple of ways
- The current currency system
- The tech line
- Old prem squads without engies
- The bipod…
- Post merge map system
So for #1 the current BR rating is atrocious, people with BR1 equipment who are mostly new players going against mostly BR3+ equipment which is quite a leap of equipment efficiency and lethality creating a very unfair situation against new players especially getting impact naded by three assaulter squads almost constantly.
Solution for this could be hard locking BR1 equipment to it’s own pool for newer players until they reach a certain “experience” level then hardcapped with BR1-BR2, BR3-4 or 5 at the most. Seeing a BR1 Italian tank in BR4-5 Berlin was definitely an interesting and weird sight as well. Also to remove the MP40, MP38 from BR2 and back to 3 or keep the 38 in 2 and move the FNAB to 3 since it preforms better than both.
Moving onto #2 the current currency system has made it harder for new players to get started, having to now buy a tech unlock (new squad, vehicles, etc.) with equipment and soldiers eats a lot of silver now. A decent amount of older players including myself who knew about the merge beforehand saved silver and bronze orders in case the game’s economy turned into what it is now.
My personal solution would be to decrease the amount of silver needed to buy the unlock for squads, equipment, etc. also to increase the silver gained from retiring pre-merge “obsolete” squads drastically.
Number #3 is the tech line which if you played pre merge you unlocked stuff way ahead in the merge for example the later tier Panzer IV automatically due to Berlin, you can research the next tank but you can’t purchase it due to not having the 6+ panzers researched beforehand which most of them are basically duplicates of which you don’t learn this until you have the tech fully researched. Germany suffers badly from this in their tank line, America with the Thompson line, while Russia and Japan don’t suffer as much from it. Would also support anding Riders and APC’s to their own respective line to reduce the grind needed for new players to get them. Also for reference I’m a German main and the tech tree sucks when you have to research 3 nearly identical Jagds. that cost 174,000 research each to research a 175,000 Tiger.
Personal solution would be either a warning that you cannot purchase the tech until you research previous tech or allow them to purchase the now researched tech at a higher price due to skipping some of the prev. tech. with the higher price depending on how far behind you are on the tree multiplying off a base from that.
#4 is a known issue and has been for awhile which the only solution is to give them engineers, a very simple fix especially for people who paid for the squads pre merge with some being ludicrously expensive.
#5 If you’ve played enlisted for awhile you know the bipod follows its own law of physics and nature, somehow causing more dispersion or un “bipoding?” at angles that would make since for a bipod to work. Also how much of a pain the bipod is to deploy on controllers.
Solution would be just to fix the bipods to allow them to be more maneuverable and actually decrease dispersion.
#6 is the problem that the new map system has introduced is maps seem to be put into time rotations, for one hour it could be D-Day invasion and the next Hürtgen Forest invasion. Lower BR’s you’re usually stuck in the sandbox.
Solution is an option to turn certain maps off or lower the chance of them as non preferred.
One other map issue is the newest map for Normandy which is just reverse D-Day with a German counteroffensive, the map is horribly balanced heavily favoring the Germans if they have anything heavier than a Panzer IV due to the hill advantage letting a German tank get a direct look at the objective and Allies tank spawn from the very back grey zone. I’ve played the German side on it and it’s not even a fight past the first objective.
Those are my thoughts on some of the more prevalent and older persisting issues.
