Suggestions & ideas

Just a sum up of what I’ve seen.

  1. Try to balance tanks. Warthunder allows for all tanks to pen each other at equal BR except standout cases like the B1 or Matilda. It’s okay if one tank is better than the other, Puma vs Stuart but overall it should be balanced. More shell types would be helpful to finetune this and better post pen damage. I don’t mind a Jumbo but it should have significant competition. 75/76 & 105 (against infantry) none Jumbo might be better for the time being until there is more ammo choice. German players will obviously cry for some super heavies but they should be restricted to a couple of campaigns at most.

  2. Planes are too powerful if not contested. The P-38 is weak but the Bf110 can lock down a match. I don’t have access to them but Stukas in Moscow campaigns seem very powerful as well. Most players ignore the air battle and just make one pass and crash, so an okay pilot just has to survive and make his passes to get lots of kills. Hopefully, different load-outs can be unlockable at some point. M8 Bazooka rockets feel underpowered compared to 4 Wg.21. HVAR rockets would be better.

  3. Keep the early game meta full of bolt actions. Arrange matchmaking by campaign levels if the player base allows for it. Seal clubbing bolt-actions no-veterancy squads with 3-stars+ MGs or semi autos is not a good way to make the game welcoming to new players.

  4. Balance rewards. Right now, people struggle to unlock cards especially weapons, while squad/Soldier XPs go up pretty fast. Daily rewards for logging in, first win are an option if the Snail intends to make us suffer and grind those. New players shouldn’t take the bait and try to unlock any new weapons they get, right now it is better to wait until you have unlocked high-tier weapons.

  5. More options for squadmates AI. They shouldn’t be good obviously, there are here to make the players feel good about themselves but preferably they should have some understanding of cover and try to mimic players so players get confused which enemy is actually player controlled. Extend their move sets. Give us the possibility to have them hold fire if we are flanking. They ruin stealth.

  6. Still haven’t made up my mind regarding maps. On one hand, combat is intense and focused around a couple of objectives leads to a lot of war movie heroics, on the other, it feels very much like a small BFV rush or small conquest mode, which may turn away a lot of players, who are looking for slower gameplay.

I like the Moscow campaign maps in this game, the one I thought I’d love the most which I hate is the D-Day one, I just feel like it feels rather empty - when attacking from the beach, I feel there needs to be bit more ambient animation going on or something.

For me conquest mode needs to go, it’s outdated and not very fun. It’s too much of running in a circle. Battles in a war about a purpose and a struggle, about capturing a point with reason. They should replace it with a tug of war mode were you fight for the middle first then try to push closer to enemy spawn

cant say that I disagree with any of this, I just hope gaijin already knows this and is working on it
