Let me get the obvious out of the way…I speak for myself. Others are welcome to chime in as they see fit.
Ok, first I would like to talk about the good.
-I love the hectic presentation of war in this game. Much better than most similar games on the market that offer FTP.
-I also think the sound environment, explosive effects on environment and the design of maps/terrain is innovative and immersive.
Next, I would like to cover what I see as detriments to the current design.
-Overcomplicated UI and progression system. It is far too busy for me as a new player, I try to ignore all the flashing indicators. It just seems like unnecessary noise at this early juncture. This should be presented more slowly, with more automatic upgrades early on. The current system should be for experienced late game progression instead.
-No ability to pick and choose maps or modes to play. Conquest or nothing. I like a few of the maps very much, but have no way to play them again, even if it is to practice. I would like to have seen the prior maps playable as single encounters with bots, with the ability for other real players to join my squad using a match system…similar to Heroes and Generals.
-Very different squads that you are forced to play with. This is very annoying IMO. I would like to focus on a single squad early on, even if that means I am kicked out of the fight early, or given the choice to pick another squad at that point that is randomly generated.
-No appearance customization. I really don’t like this setup, I would have preferred the ability to customize the faces at least.
I am a fan of Heroes and Generals, I enjoy the simplicity and simple way to upgrade abilities and weapons, but that game has flaws, and this game has much better presentation. I think if this game offered a more simple introductory interface early on, and perhaps individual maps loaded with enemy bots for group play it would be close to perfection.
