This is my list of suggestions/adjustments that should, in theory, improve the gameplay experience and add more consistency.
Invasion & Assault gamemodes
Anything built by Engineers should automatically deconstruct after an objective is taken (Rally Points, Field Cannons, Sandbags, etc).
This should prevent accidental spawns on rally points that are behind the new default spawns after each phase, and would prevent wasted resources for the Engineer. Both teams should be affected by this to keep players active.
Defending team’s should have 45 seconds to immediately vacate the area and fall back to the new set of objectives to defend. Any remaining soldiers/vehicles should be killed, treated the same as an Out of Bounds area.
There are too many cases of enemy Tanks and Infantry lingering around new default spawns and cutting enemies down before they even have a chance to leave the spawn area. Enemies should be prevented from re-entering the previous area too.
Limit the amount of active vehicles to 2 Tanks and 1 Plane per-team
Three Tanks is overwhelming to face off against, especially with the influx of new players who don’t have Explosion Devices or Engineers to build Field Cannons with. It’s already annoying enough with Pilots dropping nukes on players who haven’t even traveled far outside of their default spawns.
Visuals & Accessibilities
Lighting should be reworked in order to mitigate pitch-black foliage and buildings interiors.
I see this too often in the Moscow campaign, but Normandy has this problem as well. There’s nothing wrong with players making use of buildings to safely engage targets, but there is little to no way to visualize enemies in some areas because they’re almost vantablack.
More Fog and Volumetrics on some maps would be appreciated. This helps a lot on Swamp of Reviers and the new Fortified District map. I’m okay with anything that’ll help allow squads to approach areas without being immediately cut down without any fighting chance.
D-Day should be Overcast with Fog.
Overcast and Fog would be historically accurate while looking much more filmic and dreadful. Fog would help mask the approach of Allies on D-Day but should be experimented with in order to not be too strong of an effect.
Raise the FOV Cap from 90° to 115°.
This is already a widely popular request as it prevents nausea and the already claustrophobic feeling with the current FOV cap. The 90° FOV Cap is currently my biggest gripe with Enlisted and CRSED.
Gameplay Meta
Remove spawn amounts entirely.
It should not matter if one player’s squad continuously gets wiped out, preventing them from spawning for the rest of the round just hurts their team in the long run. There’s no point in staying in the match if all you can do is spectate. Enlisted isn’t a competitive FPS like Counter Strike, take this shit out. I’m fine with spectating at the end of a round in Invasion and Assault if the tickets run out, but it has no place besides that.
Remove Flinch or decrease it’s effect.
Flinching is by and large one of the frustrating parts of Enlisted’s combat mechanics. The gunplay as it is often feels nice but the severe aim punch effect just breaks the flow of it makes engaging enemies with automatic weapons an infuriating experience. In my opinion, Flinch should either be removed or the effect needs to be significantly decreased.
Make Explosion Devices stronger against Tanks.
Explosion Devices don’t need a drastic change in damage, but they should penetrate tanks more often and potentially kill more crewmen.
Matchmaking / Servers
Overall Matchmaking needs an improvement.
Enlisted would also benefit from the addition of skill based match making as it’s gun mechanics and control scheme lean more towards the realism aspect. This game is not very forgiving to new players who don’t have much experience in not-so-casual shooters. Making sure that beginners are paired with each other more often, and not veterans or objectively very skilled players allows more accessibility and entices the game to grow in popular rather than dissuading people.
Fix the Region Selector.
Players are still thrown into matches without outrageous server latency. I’m not sticking around in Eastern European servers where my latency is above 140-160ms, I’ll be leaving those match immediately. North American and regular European servers are perfect for someone living in the United States.
Upgrade the Enlisted and CRSED Servers to be constant 60Hz.
Considering Enlisted is a shooter with a fast time-to-kill, a 60Hz server upgrade would help create a more consistent network experience which would benefit players on all server regions. Even as someone living in North America, European servers would be much more viable to play on if they were all running at a constant 60Hz. This would help mitigate shots not registering, and being killed around corners too.
I don’t trust either Darkflow or Gaijin to come up with competent SBMM tbh. And after experiencing it for a couple years in CoD I’d rather not have it at all.
Trial by fire for new players, just like War Thunder.
Spawn Limits give a sense of actual urgency, and discourage more mindless behavior by attackers.
Flinch needs to be turned WAY down.
Detpacks are still the strongest AT option in the game, no buff needed.
I can get behind that.
Overall, decent list, some things i disagree with, but some i do agree with. well done sir
For tank combat, they should remove the armour penetration indicators. They provide no real benefit for the competent player, and all it does for the incompetent player is show them that green means go - so you have players with green indicators shooting through empty space.
I dig and agree on everything except SBMM, nothing can go right with SBMM as it makes the game a constant cycle of average players getting matched with high skilled players after a few good matches, getting their ass beat consistently for multiple games until they drop back to their skill level. Its not fun and its not very contributing to actual gameplay. Games with varied levels of skills is actually more entretaining, and you can feel the satisfaction of actually beating the best dude on the other team.
The very excessive exposure inside building have been the bane from my existence since I started playing, as staying 3 seconds defending a building ends up in me not being able to see whats gonna come through the door. I absolutely agree it should be toned down a bit.
As for flinch, I really dont mind it much but I do agree that it could be really annoying for other people.
Invasion and Assault are already superior gamemodes to Conquest, there is no reason not to improve them. Allowing enemies to spawn kill people by camping around their spawn area is also fundamentally retarded, especially since you sure as shit can’t rely on your own AI soldiers to take care of enemies in your immediate area.
Having constructs also despawn would benefit everyone (especially Engineers) since players won’t have to hunt down old Rally Points and destroy them, and not have to spend 45 seconds deconstructing their previously placed Field Cannons.
gfood suggestion list except for few thing, whic hwill not be in order
matchmaking is bad. in games with “SBMM” as it called, waht happen is you do good, get put in the special olympics basketball team vs the 1996 american olympics basketball team, and then it repeat forever
detpack are strong enough already, main problem is that physics and damage is odd on them and they do not do what you expect them to do every time. very annoying
flinch should be remove completely no compromise, it is terrible mechanic
Have fun with more steamroll matches then. SBMM is an objectively good idea, and it can’t get better if no game implements it and actively tries to perfect it. I land top of the leaderboards every match, but even I get sick of stomping players out with absolutely no in-between.
detpacks should be sticky
join in progress should be toggle on/off
you should be able to select server region a la war thunder
you should be able to block joining matches with people from certain regions in them - I don’t want to see another person with BR or CHN in their name ever again
Sorry, I dealt with Cold War SBMM and it made me quit the game. It’s not fun to play against pro players every single match. And no SBMM means I can sit back and relax while I play this game as a casual shooter
If they introduce SBMM im not playing objective, putting down spawn points, or playing for the team in any way so I don’t get in sweaty lobbies all the time
Call of Duty is not the only game with SBMM. It is not and should not be the only example of it either. What you’re already describing is exactly how Enlisted is. Inconsistent matches where either your team pulverizes the enemy, or the enemy pulverizes you. A properly implemented SBMM system WOULD allow you to have more casual matches.
