Suggestions for other battles or special events

I suggest some east front battles for the Devs to consider. They could be special events or just added into the play. These are actual battles so using actual orders of battle might make balance an issue. However, one doesn’t have to use the actual order of battle and adjustments should be made for play balance and fun.

  1. Battle of Vyazma (20/9/41)…advancing German Panzer and Panzer Grenader units fight Russian infantry during advance on Moscow. Victory for germans, take cap points. Russian, hold cap points while inflicting heavy german losses.

  2. Drive on Stalino (19/8/43) more or less opposite of battle of Vyazma. Advancing Russian Mechanized corps fight german infantry during the advance on Stalino. Victory for Russians, take cap points. German, hold cap points while inflicting heavy Russian losses.

  3. German Delaying Actions against Russian Mobile forces. As the war progessed, delaying actions were commonly used by the germans in 1944. This would be an Armor oriented game. T34s, T34/85s, Su85s, and Su152s, half tracks with infantry vs Panthers, Jagpanzer IVs and other Tank destroyers, along with half tracks with infantry. This would be a highly mobile battle with cap points to be taken and held by both sides.

One could make a long list so 3 is enough. These are only suggestions for the far future, and If they don’t go anywhere or they are not liked, It won’t bother me.

well, from what it seems, the developers are making a game of differents campaign.

but still, migh be a good idea.

and we need counter-attacks from russians. because in every gamemode they just defence. when, in reality, they also counter attacked the germans in many occasions.

Agreed. In reality battle for Moscow consisted of two stages: german offensive (30.09.1941 - 4.12.1941) and soviet counter-offensive (5.12.1941 - 7.01.1942). We already have map with late autumn weather and attacking germans. Now we need winter weather with attacking soviets for historical accuracy.

In my suggestions, the first two could be called ATTACK-DEFEND where one side is essentially the attacker and the other the defender. In any defense, counter attacks by the defenders are performed. I would suspect that a Stalingrad battle (The factory) would be another game. You would have a battle both outside and inside the factory. That might be very interesting. Thanks for the replies.
