I jave no idea about what the devs are planning for the future in terms of guns, but I do have some suggestions for what guns should be included in the game, that are currently not.
Moscow campaign, Russians:
- Instead of having 3 versions of the PPD, the last one should be replaced by a drum fed PPSh 41
Normandy, Americans:
-The Thompson M1A1 should be added as the final smg instead of the Lancaster
-The Springfield 1903 should be replaced with a 1903A3 with the aperture sights
-The Ross rifle should be replaced by a Springfield 1917
Normandy, Germans:
-The Beretta M1918 should be relced by the Beretta M38
Berlin:
I have only had the chance to try this campaign once, during the open weekend, but I have noticed some guns that are definitely missing. On the russian side, instead of having the DTM as the lmg, the DPM should be used, as the DTM is primarily a vehicle mounted gun. The Stg 44 is obviously missing from the Germans (this might also be true for Normandy, although I don’t know how many of them were issued on the western front in mid '44). The most obviously missing weapons are however the different German last ditch guns. The campaign aims to depict the final days of German resistance, at which point their military was in dire need of anything they could use. Therefore, I think it would be more than appropriate, rather straight up necessary to include some of the Volkssturmgewehr rifles.
