Suggestions about Accessories

After several version updates, I’ve noticed the dev team’s solid attempts to nail the historical accuracy of soldiers’ uniforms—like adding default accessories for AI commanders, winter uniforms for British and Italian forces, German Luftwaffe squads with trousers that match their air force uniforms, and new PPSh box magazine ammo pouches for Soviet troops.

So I have few suggestions to make the soldiers’ uniforms even more historically :

  1. Soviet forces should get a standard variant of the SSH-40 helmet with the chinstrap fastened, just like the winter camo version already in the game. This variant should also be added to the soldiers’ default accessories alongside the existing one with the chinstrap tucked up.

  2. In the Battle of Moscow map, most Soviet NKVD unit show up as 6–7 man APC and assault squads. Their current default accessories of officer greatcoats should be swapped out for the soldier greatcoats already in the game, with the officer greatcoats made an optional extra instead of the default pick.

  3. Italian radio operators should to have way to get unique Italian radio sets, instead of just using German ones. Also, the name of the Italian radio shown in the in-game image seems incorrect.

  4. The default accessories for Italian forces in the Battle of Berlin should be switched to the existing spring-summer uniform, not the Wehrmacht splinter camo or Luftwaffe uniform.

  5. The Italian Bersaglieri squad (premium squad) should at least get the option of its iconic feather-adorned helmet variant as part of its accessories options.

  6. The USA UD M42 squad (premium squad) doesn’t have unique uniforms for every campaign except the Battle of the Bulge. On top of that, the only item that sets it apart from other squads in its default accessories—the ammo pouches—are in the wrong place.

  7. Similarly, the USA USMC Thompson submachine gun squad (premium squad) has no unique uniform variants for the first three campaigns. To make things worse, it doesn’t even come with basic ammo carriers in its default accessories. If players want to add ammo carriers to the soldiers, they have to buy optional accessories —and that means ditching the unique uniform with the USMC logo.

  8. British assaulter squads should get the option of British paratrooper helmets with camouflage scrim attached as part of their default accessories, just like mortar squads, anti-tank squads and machine gun squads, at least for the Normandy Campaign and the Battle of the Bulge.

  9. British squads deployed in the Asia-Pacific theater should be offered this historically accurate temporarily dyed Aertex uniform as an optional accessory, just like the existing one for guerrilla squads.

  10. The default accessories for the German Beretta M38 paratrooper squad (premium squad) need to include ammo carriers that fit submachine gun magazines—without them, the loadout looks seriously shoddy.

  11. U.S. paratrooper helmets should at least have a variant without the exclusive spade insignia of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment added to the accessories. Also, Paramarines should get the M1 helmet with an improved chinstrap as part of their default accessories.

PS: Right now, most squads in the game are missing basic ammo carriers and gear in their default accessories. This makes the soldiers look like defeated POWs.

Ah yes the famous historically accurate Soviet turtle armor during the defence of Moscow and Italians wearing shorts at Stalingrad :sob:

The breastplates have been in mass production since 1939 and were issued to the troops in 1940.

I invite you to find the pictures of body armor used in 1941.

In reality they only started appearing scarcely at the end of 1943 during urban fighting.

Tsarist Winchesters, Italian Bredas, an American Half-Track and rocket launcher…

Perfect loadout for storming the Reichstag. :man_facepalming:

I hope you’re not running this, Veekay

Absolutely not lol

You’ll never see me on BR2 in Berlin.
I quit 100% of those matches.

Or use any amount of body armor anywhere beyond Berlin.

You should put suggestions into the proper suggestion category
Although you should also do individual suggestions, it’s harder to work with a suggestion when it has 10 things

There is an existing suggestion for this, so you don’t have to make that one

Ah, the famous ubiquitous photo and video tech of the Soviet Union, which captured every move of the soldiers and surely could have spotted 2,000 men in breastplates among 3 million others, 1.5 million of whom were retreating in chaos. By '43, there were already tens of thousands of breastplates in the units. And if we’re talking historicity, early breastplates should withstand old rifle rounds from 300 meters and stop pistol rounds even at point-blank, rather than just providing a 5% damage resist . So, if they introduce a proper HISTORICAL mechanic, but HISTORICALLY give them BR3 — then no questions asked.

At least one photo would be nice

Ok,I changed the category.

Well, if you say so, those arguments are hard to beat.
