Suggestion to help those who don't like artillery and bombers

I sat in my spawn and used one hand to call in artillery and the other to eat lunch while watching a movie. Landed in 2nd or 3rd place before the artillery nerf.

and don’t you think my proposition can help? if there is an artillery attack, go to trenches, houses etc to avoid being killed. So less kills.

also a cover system to better survive HE is already being worked on.

and this is why I ask to make radio operators to stay on the first line to call artillery, so they can’t be hidden calling artillery

I mean in the Normandy event i got 7 first places in 8 matches by simple bringing 3 plane squads and being all game in planes. The one match i didnt get 1st place but 2nd was cause i guy was doing that quicker than me

I don’t think so. There are a better ways to give people survivability, but make them move their ass instead Nerf everything.

Actually the way it is in RL. Spotters are just that … they must visually spot where the rounds are landing …

Was VERY easy to do with tanks before they changed the gunsights for tanks. Takes a little bit more care now your vision is more restricted.

If author suggests reverting last nerf and remove 1 artillery strike at the time limit then nope. This suggestion won’t help to solve artillery spam problem which was pretty annoying and unrealistic (5-6 red circles on map at the same time). Right now artillery frequency/density is just perfect and realistic as well , let’s hope devs leave it as it is now.

Also it dont help at all when cap zone is being bombed.
At example lets think that bridge at berlin. Its first point at 2 invasions. What should soviets do when they see/hear plane? There is almost no cover. Run back to spawn and hide there cause plane will be back in 2mins…

Another those invasions have 3rd cap thats some streetlamp at edge of open space(like marketplace) again no cover. German 250kg bombs already kills everyone even watching that point.

Also there isnt any friendly fire in bombs even some people claims otherwise (unless pilot dies before explosion). Just tested it and nit even single friendly soldier died at cap zone where i dropped bomb. But mystically that point stopprd turning to enemy… hmmm strange… what happened to thode enemies

I suggested something similar with taking cover mechanics like either inside a building or lying down to reduce damage + screen shake and likelihood of a complete squad wipe.

I think arty is in a decent spot after the nerf though.

Yep just give ground players at least a minimum chance to survive. I dont understand why i still get killed when the bomb lands 50m away and im crouching in a trench. Just stupid…

Agree, protection in buildings and trenches could be better against indirect plane bomb hits. I also don’t understand why most of the times all my bots die from plane bomb but i’m the only one who stay alive.

I think inside buildings should be safe. Maybe you could still get rattled by a shell if you were in an attic or top floor of a building, but you shouldn’t die.

just let it go, arty spam and bombing runs should be support, not the main force of the battle.

This is pretty much in the game already with tank shells maybe they can do something similar with bombs.

I dont want bombs not to kill people inside a close radius of the blast though if they’re out in the open. As I’ve used CAS to halt the enemy teams forward momentum so my team has a chance to set up. It’s pretty critical sometimes to do this vs good rushing teams.

The funny thing is, that these suggestions are nerfs, even though they are not as simple as just reducing damage. The end effect is still, that bombers and artillery don’t get kills as easily. And these suggestions are fine, it’s just that they take a while to be implemented. It’s not as simple as just reducing a couple of numbers like with a classic “nerf”. I’m sure the devs are already working on a sensible solution. In the meantime, bombers are destroying games and driving players away. A simple interim solution like reducing damage or lengthening travel time for planes with heavy bombs wouldn’t hurt.

Also reduce the toughness of planes again and give greater rewards for taking them down. That’s a no-brainer in my opinion.

As to the suggestions themselves:
Taking reduced or no damage from explosives in buildings is great, but then we also need to have desctructible buildings or else defenders will always hide inside. Good idea about the trenches, too. But those should only protect against shrapnel and not help much against concussive effect.
Radiomen deploying smoke makes no sense. Smoke is used to signal to planes. Artillery can’t see it. Radiomen have the radio for a reason.
Planes are already audible to infantry, as long as they fly low enough and there isn’t too much other noise around. Also, you can always hear the whistling of the bombs and they don’t explode on impact, so that also helps.

Your bots tend to trail behind you quite a bit, when you’re on the move. So that’s probably the reason. Sometimes I see an enemy bomber approaching early enough and I run away. I survive but my bots never make it.
