[Suggestion] Return of Lone Fighters, Mouse & Keyboard Support for Consoles, and Crossplay Voice/Text Chat

Hello developers and community,

I would like to submit a few suggestions to improve the game experience and accessibility for a large part of the player base:

  1. Official Lone Fighters Servers: Please consider bringing back the official servers for the “Lone Fighters” mode. Many of us deeply miss this realistic and tactical experience without AI squads.

  2. Mouse and Keyboard Support for Consoles: It would be great to have native mouse and keyboard support on Xbox and PlayStation. Adding this option would make the game much more accessible and fair for console players who prefer this control scheme.

  3. Expanded Communication (Proximity Voice Chat and All-Chat): We need better ways to communicate. I suggest adding proximity voice chat for players nearby, as well as text/voice chat that allows communication between teammates and enemies across all platforms (PC and Consoles).

Thank you for your time and for constantly improving the game. I look forward to hearing the community’s thoughts!

  1. It died for a reason
  2. PC players will demand aim assist
  3. All good

Mouse and keyboard players don’t need aim assist, neither on PC nor on consoles. The precision of a mouse completely eliminates the need for it. If console players get native mouse and keyboard support, they would simply play without aim assist in the same input pool as PC players.

Aim assist should strictly remain a feature for controller users to balance out the joystick mechanics.

Just look at Fortnite: console players can plug in a mouse and keyboard and play without any aim assist, or they can stick to a controller with aim assist. It works perfectly there.

I totally agree with these points!

  1. Bringing back Lone Fighters officially would give it the visibility it deserves. A lot of newer players don’t even know this mode exists, even though many of us still hunt for it in community servers.
  2. Native mouse and keyboard support would be a massive quality-of-life update for those of us playing on PlayStation.
  3. Proximity chat would be incredibly fun and chaotic. It would definitely lead to some hilarious and amazing tactical moments in-game.

Great suggestions, you have my vote!

I would love to know who voted against this and what their argument is.

In Warzone, when you connect a keyboard and mouse to the PS, the game automatically disables and locks out any aim-assist options; it shouldn’t be too hard to do the same in Enlisted. PC players play with a crosshair in the center of the screen, and I don’t see any PlayStation players complaining about that—yet it’s perfectly legal.

EDIT / UPDATE based on community feedback:

To solve the low population and bot problem in official Lone Fighters servers, the matchmaking button should use an aggressive “Join in Progress” system.

Instead of creating new empty servers from scratch, the game should force queue solo players into already existing, active sessions until the slots are completely filled with real people. I don’t mind joining a match that has already started, as long as it guarantees a lobby full of real players instead of a match full of bots from the beginning.

Here are the main benefits of this “Join in Progress” solution:

  • Server efficiency: It reduces server strain since the game won’t need to spin up countless empty lobbies.
  • More visibility: It gives Lone Fighters an actual spot in matchmaking, making the mode popular again.
  • No player split: It consolidates the active player base into a few packed lobbies instead of scattering people around.
  • Human-focused matches: It keeps the gameplay competitive by replacing bot fill with actual real players.
  • Better Progression: Playing against 100% real players makes scoring and earning XP feel much more rewarding and well-deserved.
  • Higher Retention: New players trying Lone Fighters won’t leave out of boredom from fighting dumb bots, increasing the active player base.
  • Match dynamic: Lobbies stay intense from start to finish since empty slots from players rage-quitting are immediately backfilled by the queue.
  • No queue times: You get the best of both worlds—fast queue times like Squad mode, but with the tactical gameplay of real players.
