Suggestion: paratroopers/parachutes

WW2 D-Day, paratroopers, we all know and love them. Pilots bailing out after plane is going to crash? We love it. Why mot implement a new system, paratroopers, new maps, objectives, weapons, uniforms, planes, you name it. I believe it would be VERY USEFUL, fun, learning, and a way to scare your enemies and/or potentially survive a plane crash.

And please don’t forget the German Fallschirmjäger! We all know and fear them! :grin:

They are already present.

But they do not have the correct uniform.

IDK if Parachute mechanics would be great in Enlisted so I won’t comment on that functionality. But I do wanna have Paratrooper squads from Britain, Germany, and Italy.

Which units are the Fallschirmjäger in Nomandy and Mosow campaigne?

we only have the 3rd mortar battalion in normandy.

which are basically the paratroopers.

but ;

nonetheless those guys are presents.

while the americans have the 507th parachute infantry regiment of the 82nd airbone division and the 501st parachute infantry regiment of the 101st airbone division.

I think it could be fun to have a paratrooper mission where the first spawn of the attacking team drop from planes and then respawns take place on the ground.

But it could be extremely annoying to deal with the players who drop to the sides of the map and just snipe or spawn camp without going to the objective.

Ah ok! Hopefully they will add the correct uniforms and add more Fallschirmjäger units.

Well parachutes back in ww2 (paratroopers had the T2) werent really functional, meaning they were mushrooms, and they couldnt be controlled much, meaning, you fall right under where your chute opened. So if the game wants to be real and do that, that adds realism.

People, I also do believe that both uniforms should be correct and that bolt action rifles shouldn’t be on the US team as they had a springfield for sniper and used M1s.

hold on a second,

did you just asked for Fallschirmjägers units in the battle of moscow?

err… i don’t know about you, but this game does not include time traveling ( aside mg42s in moscow )

because the fallschirmjeagers were not even a thing until 1943.

perhaps the soviet could use a paratrooper division, but not the germans.

My fault :man_facepalming: your absolutly right.

German paratroopers were in Barbarossa since the beginning, none of them ended up in Army Group Center whose task was to take Moscow. They were a “thing” since before the war, although the Germans game them various names to try and conceal their purpose.

that is correct.

and i’m wrong.

apparently germany had paratroopers units during 38’s.

@20778450 my sincerly apologize.

but there are no mention of being deplyed at moscow. the only " font " that i have found is, https://www.quora.com/If-Nazi-Germany-used-paratroopers-in-the-Eastern-Front-to-take-cities-like-Moscow-and-etc-would-it-have-made-any-difference

although, it seems that no german paratrooper force joined in the battle for moscow.

even in the chapter 6:
https://history.army.mil/html/books/104/104-21/cmhPub_104-21.pdf

so, we cannot have them for this campaign.

Not steerable no, but slippable I think.

i also would love to see parachutes as a game mechanic. primarily because if a plane is severly damaged (e.g. wing cut loose by a flak shell or because of an enemy plane shooting you), you would increase pilot survivability.

secondarily with the use of paratroopers either spawning only as the first wave of a match or dropping in on specific corridors where the c-47 and ju 52 pass by at regular intervals and can be intercepted by pilots and flak. i think it creates a bit to threedimensional combat and a greater focus on air to air and ground to air combat.

actually i was very disappointed when i saw the pilot clearly wearing a parachute in the sprite but not having one ingame when i bailed out and plummeted to the ground.
