Dear Sirs/Devs,
Please, in your spare time (if you have any) play the series game “Brothers In Arms (earned in blood/Road to hill 30)” its a classic old game and the squad mechanics were great and a lot of fun. The AI was quiet good best AI Ive had in a ww2 shooter game. Please make the squad combat/control/function like that.
A game type suggestion: (especially if you follow the first suggestion i made) would be a way for you to field 2 squads or one squad and a tank/plane at a time…just have a way to give them orders. I realize you’d have to vamp up the AI and the FPS would possibly drop. But it would good fun.
Follow up from that: If one player was to be designated at random (if he/she accepts) to be a general for that battle and they get a birds eye view of the battle. Able to select another players unit. Not controlling them of course but to set a way point for the player on the ground. it would be as if the player on the ground was receiving orders. The commander can tag enemy positions and tanks, suggest builds and call in Artillery. Players of course can choose to ignore orders if they deem or request new orders if they have finished or forgotten their old orders. The commander can only give a player orders every 10mins. Perhaps if the commander could get a set of “Special” AI engineers that are capable of building equipment, trenches, positions ect.
This game type could turn into “assassination” type too. If two bunkers were opposed to each other on the other side of the map and our commanders had to go to a “Map table” and press “E” to go into the RTS mode. It would mean they had the option to join the fight or fend off any attackers who dared to kill him.
Just some ideas…

This has been tried in a number of games before. Most notably to be was Battlefield 4. Its great in THEORY, the problem though is that very few players actually hold a tactical mindset that is needed for this position, especially if its chosen at random.
IF something like this were added, there would need to be some kind of system to even check for tactical proficiency, allowing certain players to qualify for it. The reason I say this is that it can be a massive make or break situation.
- If you have a tactically aware “commander” that actually cares about his team winning, that’s a huge advantage (IF his fellow players know the orders can be trusted)
- If you have a run of the mill blueberry in that position, and players decide to trust them, they could easily be sent into meatgrinder situations instead.
It comes down to how do you get players to trust that position, and that position to do their job correctly. I have yet to see a system that works, but one can always hope.

Yeah this is true. I did think about that but I wasn’t sure how to address it.
I mean…this is old as the hills…but My boys in Enlisted would have hurdled at least 50X back and forth over those walls they were using for cover.
The most famous game of this idea is Naturalselection2
Would also be good training sim for rotc cadets
I have another idea. To make things realistic…
Americans - Give them the ability to field more tanks on the field. Shermans were nicknamed Tommy cookers by the Germans because they were getting shells shot right through them. An American tanker called them death traps. He said everytime the tanks came back from combat there was always something to clean up inside…and usually it was the poor radio operator. Also given the firepower America had at this time take a minute off of shelling cool down.
Russians - Sorry lads but the T34 is over hyped, I know you dont want to hear it. And yes I think its a decent enough design for a tank. However Russia at this time, being fond of cast molds for tanks instead of welding sheets like German tanks, they actually heated the metal up far too hot and cooled it far to quickly making the metal brittle. It was thought the hotter and cooler you could get it the better. The Americans and British heated their metals while Russians over heated theirs. In short the armour was brittle or soft. There is a story about an 88 that shot through one T-34 and hit the turret of another on the other side killing the whole crew. crews went into battle with sometimes just HE or sometimes not even that. Reverting to ramming. Id say give the Russians an extra tank slot, more pop cap and 30seconds off of Artillery cooldown.
Germans - GIVE THE MG34/42 PROPER STATS! either 75 drum clip (because they never used 50’s lets be honest) stop making them sooooo shaky and have some sort of belt fed upgrade…be good if a bot helped put the rounds in 200 belt! germans can be left at 2 tank slots. But you should give them the ability or upgrades to make 88’s or bigger Paks and perhaps ever a 20mm you can push? make the Tiger slower also.
Brits - They can stay, I havent played too much of Tunisia. But it would be nice to see them on other fronts. maybe someone can suggest some accurate fixes for them.
Ground shaking and dust coming off of buildings when tanks drive by is a must. Also…Co-axle machine gun needs to fire please fix this. Have the AI shoot on his own accord. No good having a radio operator if he isnt going to do his other part time job. Option for “ctrl” Driver able to pop out and drive with hatch open would be intersting.
Mortors - please give us the option to Upgrade them to HE rounds. Also the German Mortor Stat is slightly off it says its 80mm instead of 81mm.
Please give us the ability to have our units wear company patches of our own choosing. And to place them where we would like.
Also Please have a template of historical camo designs and historical colours…let us paint our own tanks (with in reason of course) but tank crew got to pain their tanks. Just let us mix and match templates and Strict historical colours.
Also…Dont charge us for a single number…come on!! what is that? Let us write our own numbers. Up to four!
