Suggestion for new BR 2 vehicles: Sd.Kfz. 222 (GER) & BA-64 (USSR)
Hi everyone,
I would like to make a concrete suggestion for two new vehicles in the research tree. This proposal is based purely on the current gameplay of Enlisted and is not just wishful thinking—both vehicles are long overdue and would fit perfectly into the current balancing, especially after the latest updates.
We are talking about two highly iconic light armored cars of World War II: the Sonderkraftfahrzeug 222 for Germany and the BA-64 for the USSR.
The Factual Basis
To be clear from the start: this is not a fictional daydream. Historically, both of these vehicles belong to the top 10 most produced armored cars of the entire Second World War. The BA-64 and the Sd.Kfz. 222 were omnipresent on the front lines. It is honestly surprising that such mass-produced, iconic vehicles are still missing from the game, while far rarer prototypes have already made it in. They simply belong in a WWII shooter by default.
Integration into the New Vehicle Category
With recent updates, the distinction in the tech tree between classic tanks and armored vehicles / wheeled vehicles has become much clearer. Currently, there are several vehicles in the game that should actually belong to this new category instead of cluttering the regular tank branch. The Sd.Kfz. 222 and the BA-64 would perfectly open up this new branch for light wheeled vehicles at lower tiers and complete the system logically.
Classification and Balancing (BR 2)
Both vehicles fit seamlessly into Battle Rating 2 (BR 2):
- Sd.Kfz. 222 (Germany): Armed with a 2 cm KwK 30/38 and a coaxial MG. It offers fast mobility but minimal protection.
- BA-64 (USSR): Armed with a DT machine gun (or the DShK variant) in a rotating turret. Extremely compact, agile, and fast.
Why They Are NOT Overpowered (OP)
Before the usual complaints start about these vehicles breaking the balance: both are very lightly armored.
They are extremely vulnerable to explosive packs, anti-tank rifles, and can easily be taken out by enemy tanks or even targeted heavy machine-gun fire. They offer high mobility on roads but are less effective off-road. Therefore, there is absolutely no risk of these vehicles becoming “OP” or ruining the matchmaking. They simply add historical variety and a fresh gameplay dynamic.
This is my first and likely only suggestion for the game, as I specifically wanted to introduce vehicles that genuinely complement the BR 2 gameplay without unnecessarily bloating the tech tree.
What are your thoughts on this? Looking forward to a constructive discussion. But plss no warthunder bullsh*t.
