Some of my favorite units are the small troop carriers (Universal Carrier)… unfortunately I only have the Russian and the Japanese ones, but they are just weirdly fun to play. I like the little 4 man unit composition and the fact that its a mobile spawner, fast, and stealthy just make them fun. I know there is a British one, but as far as I am aware in the 2 years or so I have played no German… so suggestion…
Maybe add a Kettenkrad ( Sd. Kfz. 2) halftrack bike unit for the Germans that works the same way and then make it an event award and bring back the British one for the opposing side. That would give all four factions a mini carrier and would just be a cool and historical addition since they were widely used by the Germans to move troops.
Technically true because it’s the rules, but I think it’s redundant because its a crime to not add iconic vehicles
What does that even mean?
I am conflicted on whether it should be Rider or APC. There are good arguments for both. I lean a bit more towards APC since they were mainly used for hauling supplies while Germany had dedicated motorcycle troops that acted like mechanized cavalry.
Although some could say what’s the difference between an APC full of troops and everyone jumps out vs a motorcycle where the 3 guys jump out. But I feel they’re different roles
Just bring in the smaller half track SdKfz 250, give it an MG34 and you’re on the way. Total load out was a driver, gunner and four mounts. The best would be give the lower BRs a OPAL Blitz and get rid of the current rubbish halftrack whck is just an arty tracktor. Make the 250 an event squad if you don’t want to tech tree it.
Wouldn’t allow me to do a poll. Literally blocked it.
No source? What?
You are right… its a universal vehicle. It could however be used to transport personnel. Kind of how the Universal Carrier wasn’t a troop transport either (weapons carriage) but was sometimes used as one. Honestly the idea that either could be a spawn point is video game logic and since its video game logic it works.
As to people who want it for a rider. Sure that could work but what would make it special? It wasn’t armed. Had no sidecar, though sometimes pulled trailers. Was slower than other bikes on roads. Was better off road but that isn’t an issue in the game. It can have an engineer? So can other bikes/rider vehicles already in this game (which by the way is also silly…). If you make it a transport it at least has a unique identity. A niche to fill which makes it not just another event throw away unit.
