Suggestion for a future game version: weapons recycling and conversion

Syria insurgent modified WWII weapon could appear as starter level in modern conflict.

Maxim 1910 Ukrainian conflict.

As a starting weapon? NO. Just as a curiosity and the possibility of using them. No one will stop you from running around the Vietnamese jungle with Sten or MP40.
After all, a weapon is a weapon, so I am also in favor of making the damage dependent on the caliber, and the effective distance on the type of weapon.

This is a good point of weapon customisation, which is old weapon modified with modern parts should have significantly increased BR so they work in the era when the modern parts belong to.

Could depend on how much you modify it, but weapon design is making huge progress in these years, it may cost much more to modify old weapon in depth to let it perform well than just buy a weapon with new design concept. But it is still possible, so for diversity, why not?

There is quite a lot of source shows WWII weapons appeared in later wars.

Tell me it, because here almost everyone come with the point of shit on this suggestion

The difference is here WWII weapon with modern parts appear in later wars where all parts are already in service. What I also disagree is modern parts appear in WWII battles.

And where i said, that modern part should be used in ww2 BR? No dude i never said it, i said only that a Gewer43 with a bipod and slow full auto dont was a big fuss in a future costumization

Maybe some other people and me thought you want to introduce them into current game. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

From around 1980s-90s where weapon design become more modular when picatinny rail and USSR counterpart are invented, so only from that time and later, it is reasonable and realistic to expect highly modified weapon appear in massive equipment. Before that (Korea War and Vietnam War), weapon customisation above certain basic change will be very expensive and may only appear in small number for special forces.

Yes but but im talking about simply modification for convert semi-auto rifle in machinegun or machinegun in semi-auto snipers rifle for example (like Kurz,Avt or type 97)

i never talked about huge modification, another type of modification i like see is change weapon sigth or use different mag size and metal buttstock on smg for reduce recoil (beretta)

or

add a trench mag on BA (gewer/kar event) and if possibile add the slow semi-auto fire (charlton)

Those are all modification some weapon in the game already have and can be used in a future costumization for the game

Maybe still check sources about is there “just compatible” parts that can be installed easily? If yes, than that “design reserved” modification could definitely be possible and may be used massively.

I think these are:

But something like this

should have reasonably very high cost and maybe limited number, if no successful prototype existed.

Its not about compatible part but if that gun can sustain the modfication, take as example heroes and general weapon modification each gun have a list of supported modfication from their bullet to the buttstock and those modification are in line with the gun
image
Im not talking about make an mp40 become a mp5 im talking of exploit a full gun potential using the costumization, like add a bipod on the avs36 and use the full auto fire from the distance, is to gamebraking?

My point is “supported modification list” may be categorised in this way, for example:

A “Basic Modification” list give historical source supported change with low cost and low change of BR.

A “Special Modification” list allow more in depth change but limited to technology at that time, with high cost and medium change of BR.

A “Modernise Modification” allow installing parts with later technology, with medium cost and high change of BR.

The first class may appear massively in WWII battle, the second class could appear in small number in any battle but mainly WWII, the third class only appear in modern conflicts.

I support this can be an extension for keep use ww2 gun in more modern setting if faction restrictions allow them

Weapon customization I think would be cool if it was kept historical examples: adding a scope on to a kar98 instead of it counting as a different weapon not a real fan of the making a Gewehr 43 in to a bar though just my personal opinion though

Understantable nothing aganaist, Those are example on how the costumization con fully work if sufficient developed, adding bipod to gun, bayonet, scope, modify their fire mode, bullets ecc… if a gun can support this modfication like HeG already do

For example add a bipod to the avs

Actually, sniper variant is extremely accurate variant, so it should be another gun (in sniper class).
But PPSh with drum and PPSh with stick are the same gun.
MP40 and MP38 should also be convertable one to another

It never ever had one (as far as I know)

The ability to add back the bipods on some of the BARs would be nice. Some don’t but they should all have bipods.
