I know there is an archived thread proposing to add the Horten Ho 229:

The archived topic is locked, so I cannot reply there. I make this new thread to support the original idea and provide further details.

Availability

I recommend adding it as an event or premium vehicle, which fits the setting for late experimental jets in Enlisted.

Gameplay Purpose & Role

This flying-wing jet fills the blank of German late jet strike aircraft. It can be the German equivalent of the American F-80 Shooting Star, working as a balanced multirole jet for bombing tasks.

The aircraft should partially follow the historical “Three 1000” design requirement.
Two optional bomb loadouts are proposed for history and balance:

  • 1 × 500 kg
  • 2 × 500 kg bombs

In fact, there were two main cannon configurations for the Horten Ho 229:

  • Four × 30 mm MK 108 cannons: total weight around 360 kg, 90 rounds per gun.

The Horten Ho 229 is not merely a paper‑only design. Its prototypes did conduct flight tests. The V1 was only an unpowered glider, while the V2 crashed during one of its test flights.

Germany truly lacks such an aircraft. The Me‑262 is hard to use in dogfights. :weary:

The current Me 262 cannot cope with being swarmed by British Meteors and American F‑80 Shooting Stars. The Luftwaffe urgently needs a more maneuverable aircraft to counter these two Allied planes.

Why should the Meteor be at 6BR? It’s not overpowered it carries two 500lb bombs, which is only about ~227 kg.

The British Meteor has great dogfight stats and outclasses everything at its BR. Its turn rate is so good it can sometimes rip its own wings apart. It has an afterburner for great thrust. The 500‑lb bomb holds it back a bit, but you can still hit targets with it. If you don’t feel the Meteor is overpowered, go fly some other jets with worse overall stats.

Both the Nakajima Kikka and Ho 229 are only prototypes and never saw real‑world WWII combat. Are you going to submit a suggestion to remove the Nakajima Kikka then?

yea honestly at this point the content that enlisted could get is a bunch of low br stuff or prototype since most thing are too redundant or too OP.

Or recon vehicle but that is low br stuff anyway.

That why I thought the warthunder way would be perfect but i get it.

I understand your point. It has to be admitted that prototype and paper‑only aircraft can indeed bring more playable content to Enlisted. The Luftwaffe urgently needs a maneuverable prototype aircraft to counter Allied air forces in both air‑to‑air combat and multi‑role capabilities.

I see you aren’t really looking at the details—have you ever stopped to consider that a 30mm cannon is more powerful than a 12.7mm or 20mm one?

Yeah a 30mm is more powerful, but you’re completely ignoring the fact that there are only 100 rounds total, 50 each for the two cannons. With that small of an ammunition load, it’s incredibly common to run out of ammunition in the middle of fights, while it’s competitors have zero issue with ammo while still being deadly. And because of that, the Kikka gets the 800kg bomb to balance it out.
