I am reposting this because I didn’t know about polls, thanks for all who informed me*
Hello my friends and compatriots.
I would like to suggest the addition of the Stuka G-1 aircraft to the game.
I wish to see this version of the G-1 with the BK 3.7 (37mm) cannons and have 4 50kg bombs or one 250kg bomb (for balancing). The 3.7cm cannon on the BF110g-2 is a great cannon and it’s unfortunate that it is only equipped on that attack plane. The Stuka was equipped with the BK in most cases on the later models because it was a great air-to-ground offense weapon.
Currently there are 4 variants/versions of the Stuka and each one is different only in small changes or incremental improvements. The Stuka G-1 would be placed at BRIII/IV because it is slow enough to not be OP in the speed department and powerful enough to play against higher BR players and vehicles. I believe it would be fun for the realistic situations that the Soviets and Allie’s faced from a true threat above, it would create a dynamic layer of aerial combat that I believe does exist in the game but can be expanded upon. The HVAR rockets that attack Axis can have a proper balanced opponent.
What do you think? I would like to have some discussion about this or debate this suggestion.
I wish to have a creative conversation or discussion about this.
Thank you for your time, see you all on the battlefield!
it needs some adjustments for enlisted as irl it had only 6 APCR (Armor-Piercing Composite Rigid) shells per cannon, so only 12 total. alternatively it also could be loaded with HE shells for soft targets.
problem is, for enlisted this is very limited on top of the already bum flying stats of the stuka. using the purely historical stats would put this straight into BR1.
comparing this with something strong like a yak9k which comes with ~30 fast fire rate 45mm shells in the nose (very easy to aim) and good flying stats at BR3, the cannon bird stuka doesnt even fit into br2, as it would be straight weaker than the TT stukas.
the best decision for gaijin is to put the historically accurate version into BR1 tech tree and buffed version as event/premium for br2 with something like a 500kg bomb like the R2 stuka.
this would be deadly against tanks, but close to useless against planes, whereas the tech tree R2 stuka has normal MGs on top of the 500kg bomb, so the power level is similar to the TT version.
the kanonenvogel is very famous. there are much stronger planes already in the game that set a proper comparison for the performance of canon planes which arent as famous and therefore much less hyped, which distorts the opinions regarding power level of many players.
In reality, The G was usually only carrying the 37mm cannons to destroy enemy vehicles, specialising in short range and quick operations where bombs would prove to be dead weight.
However the hardpoint to mount a 250 kg bomb under the center is still there, the G-1 can carry a 250 kg bomb and the cannons at the same time, the only downside with that much weight, is that it may need external help to take off which is not a problem considering we already have D-3 with 3x 250kg bombs that are about in total 260kg heavier than the G-1 would be.
In Enlisted, planes without bombs or rockets are almost worthless, especially attacker aircraft so the Stuka G should be added with a bomb, aircraft suspended armament is already unrealistic anyway since bombs and rockets pairs can be magically dropped one at a time.
Well not exactly there is very crazy aircrafts like the Yak-9T ,Yak-3 and Yak-9K and Spitfire Vc/Trop that are absolute beasts. Specially the Yak-9T and K with their high velocity cannons are not joke at all. Yak-9K and T can destroy all type of vehicles air or ground do to their high velocity cannons and can even sniper infantry since the cannons are in the middle literally all BR III Yaks are headshot machines. You can destroy spawn points also with them specially when you know where people normally build them. They can snipe people out of windows to be honest I can think of a lot aircrafts that have crazy bomb loads like the P-51 or FP-5 or P-63 and the Yaks are much better. This really depends on the cannon since the poor M4 autocannon has terrible velocity 610 m/s while the BK 3,7 800–1,140 metres per second but I would prefer Bf 109 G-6 on BR III with 2 × 30 mm MK 108 cannons. You cant imagine how good it will be without bombs even. If they put C.202 EC to ground attacker why would I pick a Stuka. Maybe even I will enjoy Ki-108 Kai however its still on the slow side the cannon. But Bf 109 G-6 with 2 × 30 mm MK 108 cannons will be really good BR III plane without bombs even. Bf 109 with a single 30 mm MK 108 cannon in the middle will be a dream for BR III. I would not mind something like Kawasaki Ki-88 for BR II or BR III also very good aircraft without bombs or rockets.
Oh! You mean the cannon-equipped Stuka? Compared with the Il-2-37, I think this early aircraft should be placed at BR 2 for better performance.
Historically, it destroyed plenty of armored targets, and there was even a German ace pilot flying it. This would boost Germany’s close air support capability at BR 2, instead of only relying on regular bombing runs.
I would vote for event Ju 87 G-2 in BR1. I think a mixed belt HE/AP would make it less limited. It’s bad but cool, so I think it fits event reward category. Although I would bring it at least to BR2, so really not to important to me.
It’s worse than the br1 hs 129 which gets HE filler in its AP shells, unlike the 37mm. HVAP shells will struggle to truly destroy an enemy tank in this game.
I assume they would buff the flight model a little, as I think they have done with the other Stukas. Also would be great if there was some gun convergence, but no hope for that.
