Was wondering why the canister shells for the 37mm on the Stuarts were never added, seems like wasted potential
Probably because they are not modelled in War Thunder
The T-28 has this shell and it’s terrible.
With a 76mm caliber, now divide the efficiency by 2
Soviets have shrapnel shell whichs should be very diffrent than canister shot at least how it is implemented in WT.
Canister shot should detonate shortly after leaving the barrel mid air and then act like an oversized shotgun showering an entire area in lead.
In WT the existing shrapnel rounds the USSR tanks have behave more like APHE but bad and thuse are more AT than anti infantry compared to canister shot.
It is posible that the soviet shrapnel shot also should be able to airburst just like the 37mm canister shot and that WT just didnt implemented it poorly but i find it unlikely since if it wasnt ment to penetrate tank ( but rather airburst mid flight) it should not be able to penetrate any armor at all since it would be missing the harded tip on its shell.
the essence it’s going to be bad anyway, it’s not worth it)
People are always after the next gimmick, convinced that they are being stiffed out of their rightful whatever [insert any term you feel is appropriate here - not where the sun doesn’t shine!]
