Stop people disassembling gear when it is being used

Someone disassembled a MG position on me today - as I was using it… :rage:

I might have sworn at him a little bit… :exploding_head:

I can see why you might disassemble old positions - but is it really necessary now that everything simply replaces the last one you built?

all so much fuzz for a mg position?

although, a proper suggestion on your end would be, " do not allow bob the builder to dismantle wirelessly machineguns that are being used ".

but on the other hand, i can see people complaining for " guy/girl sits afk in my built weapon, cannot do anything "

now, i’m not someone possessive at the point where would bite everyone that touches my stuff, but generally, if someone built a weapon somewhere, it’s because later on he or she wants to use it.

but i ain’t here to judge.

on the other hand, how do think to solve this problem?

Fuzz??

Well it was in a great position flanking a cap point - got 50 kills from ther in the previous game, and was on the way in this one…

He didn’t want to use it - ran off immediately after… there was room for them to build another next door if he’d wanted but he had a rifle squad so couldn’t build one anyway.

If he wanted to build one himself then me building one doesn’t stop him… so no, he was just being a jerk as far as I can tell - didn’t offer any communications on the matter.

So I’d limit it to: you cannot demolish a construction that is being used (or crewed if you prefer) - that can only be MG nest, AA and AT guns I think.

There are legitimate reasons to demolish things - wire or tank traps that are in the way, sand bags ditto spring to mind, an AA gun blocking a doorway… so I wouldn’t stop it being done for everything.

i’m sorry, but over a casual game such as enlisted,

i don’t think you are in charge of his actions. and since he is a human being, i’m quite sure he can do what he want.

being a jerk it’s burning the others or ramming other soldiers with tank.
there, i can agree with you.

sounds good to me.

quite obvious.

of course I’m not in charge of his actions - what is that supposeed to mean??

he can do whatever he wants on his own.

without needing of your communication.

that’s what it means.

you ain’t his boss.

that’s all.

Oh - right… well thanks for letting me know that…

MG nests are very costly in resources. The guy could be a d*ck, or maybe he genuinely needed those resources back from dismantling.

(Or both, why not).

I’ve had a lot of occasions as well where I’ve built an ammo crate just for someone to disassemble it right away.

I would say prevent friendlies from disassembling your construction period, but I’ve had enough occasions where someone does something stupid and obstructive with sandbags.

I’ll keep that mindset when I start running over my teammates.

there were no doubts about your intention from quite a while.

don’t worry.

It all depends on the person, unfortunately you are right.

I’ve had a lot of occasions as well where I’ve built an ammo crate just for someone to disassemble it right away.

This could be in part due to the stupid mechanic where you can tell your AI to dismantle something. The number of times I have accidentally told my AI to dismantle something I or an ally built when I just wanted them to stay put is… frustrating to say the least. At this point, I just make sure I am far away from anything before telling them to hold position.

Could also explain the OP.

But the solution is as simple as the OP as well- if someone is manning a machine gun or if an ammo crate has been used in the past 30 seconds, only the owner should be able to dismantle it.

Unless they have changed it in the new update, no you can’t build a new mg nest unless you disassemble your old one. I take it you were using someone else’s MG nest.

A solution could be to just prevent destruction of team mates construction except sandbags hedgehogs and barbed wire.

If the other guy was the builder of the MG nest he was definitely not being a dick. When someone steals my MG nest I do the same. There’s a limit of only one so if I set one up I do it so that I can use it myself. If OP was the one who built it then he met an obvious troll. Ideally it shouldn’t be possible to deconstruct someone else’s MG nest or prevent the builder from using it.

Everything can still obstruct teammates so it should all be in some way able to be dismantled by anyone.
