STG44 problem

I noticed that the STG44 has a small problem with reloading. Whether you empty the magazine or reload with bullets in the magazine, it will always have an extra action of pulling the bolt.
This problem does not exist in the MP43. If you reload the MP43 when there are still bullets in the magazine, you only need to load the new magazine to fire without additional pull of the bolt.
STG44 Even if I only fire one round, it still requires me to pull the bolt

So, I don’t know much about firearms. What I want to know is, does STG44 do this in reality? Is this a restoration of history or a BUG?

Oh, thank you for your answer, I thought this was the difference between STG44 and MP43
So I really hope this problem can be solved as soon as possible. For me, STG44 feels a bit inferior to MP43 at present.
