History:
Labuzhsky graduated from eight classes at school number 58 and entered the FZU school. After college, he came to work at a locomotive repair plant. From 1941 to 1942 he worked as an electrician at the Orenburg oil and butter plant.
He went to the front as a volunteer, where he distinguished himself as a sniper, machine gunner, mortar and sapper. The title of Hero of the Soviet Union was awarded for a heroic deed in battle on the outskirts of the Polish settlement of Buzhenin. He did not allow the Nazis to blow up a strategically important bridge across the Varta River. The squad of sappers, commanded by Labuzhsky, captured the bridge under enemy fire, and the commander himself, despite the danger, got close to the burning cords and managed to cut them, preventing an explosion, ensuring the rapid advance of the entire brigade.
During the beginning of the Berlin operation, he was seriously wounded in the thigh, which later on caused that his leg had to be amputated. Still, he did not leave the frontline. He sadly passed, shortly before the end of the war in April 1945, because of a heavy gas gangrene wound.
