Sten Mk II and Sten Mk III

Not sure if its just me, but I have noticed that the Sten’s are actually the wrong way round in terms of the two versions, the Mk 2 is actually using the Mk 3 3d model in game and the Mk 3 is actually using the Mk 2 3d model in game.

Should the developers look into this and switch the models around? and has anyone else noticed this?

No, they’re not wrong.

The Sten Mk II in game is a Canadian pattern Mk II.

Literally, the only difference between a Canadian and a regular Mk II is the style of buttstock used.

The Sten Mk III is fully accurate and correct, no caveats.

This is most easily seen by the crest on top that forms part of the front sight on the front.

I dont think im wrong, this is a sten mk 2

Right, which looks nothing like the Mk III in game now does it…?

The Mk II in game is a Mk II, just a Canadian Mk II, literally the only difference is the style of buttstock used.

Yes that’s literally what i mean sorry the gun stocks are on the wrong versions, the one in the MK 3 is literally the Mk 2 stock in game, and Mk 3 is the Mk 2s in game. they literally wasn’t produced in the same period, so highly unlikely to be used the other way round. Thats all

There is no such thing as a “Mk III stock”. The two main variants were the “tube stock” and and “skeletal stock”, the skeletal stock was used on Canadian produced examples for the Mk II, which is the one we got in game. The Mk III, AFAIK, was never produced outside of the UK.

The stocks in use are intierly correct and there’s nothing wrong with them.

The Mk III came into production after the Mk IIs had started, and production ended before Mk II production ended theirs. I have no idea what point you are trying to make here.

Nvm, it was, so it likely came with both styles of stock as well.

You seem to have a lot more knowledge than me so i will go with you on it then, I was just thinking i have never actually seen a mk2 with that stock type, only a sten mk2(s) and mk3

Here’s two men of the Durham Light Infantry, with (persumably) a (British manufactured) Sten Mk III with tubular stock in the foreground.

yes lol this is getting confusing, not sure what ive started here, i meant ive never seen a mk2 with the stock that is in enlisted on the mk 2. i thought that was a more of a mk2(s) and mk3 style. i know mk2(s) and mk3 have the tubular stock

So uh still want the devs to switch their models?

If you still insist on it, I’d require you to have a poll

If not, I’d just move this post into the Discussion section

Go for it, im new here, didn’t realise i put it in the wrong section

Nah mate, you weren’t wrong

If you want the devs to do something about a thing in the game, the Suggestions is the correct place to post

But since it seems @OggeKing had shined light upon us, and it seemed you were going to back outta the Suggestion, Discussion is appropriate

Plus I really dont like closing posts when good discourse like this happens

Big Brother is always watching. :eyes:

At least when Commonwealth gear is involved.

Though, just to add my perspective, I would not mind a tubular Mk II, but only in addition to the current one in game. I massively prefer how the skeletal stock looks, I’d want it to stay how it is.

But… that would be a very low-priority project, IMO… there are other Commonwealth weapons that are needed, long before we get the more common tube Mk II… like a Sten Mk V or a Lewis gun in the tech tree.
