correct.
bots from the first update of the merge are able to use bunkers mgs and mgs around the map.
i’m not 100% about the engineers placed one though.
i could have sweared they can use them, but could have been a player for all i know.
beside… i don’t really sit around watching what bots do or don’t as i used to.
i can, however, vouch for the stationary part as if you play d-day as the americans or germans against bots ( through customs with password ), you’ll see them using machineguns.
not very accurate, but they do the job.

most likely a feature not preset as of yet.
like them not being able to use apc mgs either unfortunately.
let’s hope those will be a thing in the future.

Yes. Engineer made hmg’s are used by bots but not the bots from your squad.
So place the hmg in a tactical place, where you know other bots will be passing, and just leave it.
If a bot comes running by, and sees an enemy, it will grab your hmg and open fire.
But be aware, enemy bots will also use your hmg and shoot at your team!
