Well depends on the plane you play. Planes are more like knowing there is specific planes that Ki-83 has huge advantage and planes that is bad against. There is planes that are simply really good against other planes. Also Ki 83 is terrible at sharp turns you can make him lose a lot of energy by making him move left and right there is many things you can do against Ki 83. But Ki 83 has counters really depends how much the pilot is aware of the bad sides of his plane.
True, but given how fast and how well the Ki-83 climbs it’s really not hard to win dogfights even if you’re bleeding energy. Not to mention if you just stick to boom and zooms you’re basically unstoppable unless a Meteor gets the jump on you. I still think it’s the strongest prop fighter in the game
Well no the Ki cant roll out and its very big so you can roll out against it and make multiple attacks just bait him and use roll other option is to make left and right turns but this really depends on the fighter and there is maps also there is some maps that favor more boom and zoom fighters and others that don’t. Ki-83 has simply many bad sides and even if you win some fights you really go out unscratched since its a very big plane and its made out of glass its the ultimate glass cannon inane guns no defense xD
I’m not good at explaining the specifics of air combat, so all I can say is that it works and it works wonders. I’ve never had any trouble shooting down planes or winning dogfights (except against Meteors sometimes). The main issue is the bombload, which is pretty bad for high tier games, though it is better than nothing.
Well wait for the Soviets US dont exactly have good dogfighters the UK have the spitfire and the Meteor but even the Premium US jet can win against Ki 83. But yeah P-47 and AP-4C ,P-51 and P 38 yeah against such planes you have advantage the only danger is the P-47 if he rolls out or comes on top of you but otherwise Ki -83 is good against such planes. However when you start facing planes like the Spitfire,La 7 or the Meteor you will realize the downsides of the plane. Ki 83 has one golden rule :
Really if you are on a higher altitude then your enemy in a frontal engagement you are good but if you are not your guns have very big chance to miss him. Ki 83 is not a hard plane to learn its played a lot like Jet and with the spawn mechanic is ok plane but its not the best Prop for sure there is a lot better props. N1K2-J is better if you can play it and Ki -84 ko also.But if you enjoy boom and zoom yeah Ki -83 is very good boom and zoom plane.
It may not be perfect, but the other reason I consider it the best prop fighter is that it lets a pairing Kikka drop 800kg bombs unopposed, not to mention that the Kikka also isn’t the worst fighter either.
With the Meteor getting nerfed as well it only helps Japan’s case.
Kikka is best Japanese fighter like the other jets the crazy bomb has advantage and Kikka have good stats much better then Ki 83 and the guns are better the only problem is the small amount of ammo. If you spray too much its not your plane. But the climb rate is insane it makes even Ki 83 look bad.
Exactly, which is why having the Ki-83 as its pairing attacker is so good. You have 2 really good fighters, one of which can the biggest bomb in the game really frequently. So yeah the Ki-83 is the still the GOATed prop fighter
