I’d be in favor of standardizing the supplementary designations for weapons and vehicles.
Right now, it’s pretty random.
Some use “special designation,” others use (Special designation), and some just throw in Special designation.
A few examples:
I would prefer “special designation” to be standardized. As I am not in favor of (Special designation) just because it looks very meh on German weapons.
Especially in the case of Bloody skins and legacy default starters.
Germans used a lowercase letter in parentheses at the end of a weapon/vehicle designation if the weapon/vehicle originated in another country. I know that for event/legacy starters, the uppercase letter in parentheses is used. But even so, it’s just too similar:
Is there a need to establish some kind of standardization for these special supplementary designations?
Personally I would either have: example “unique” or example [unique] rather than the example (x or y) since these should be reserved for historical designations only.
Vehicle paint schemes should indicate the year of manufacture and the unit in which they were used. Firearms should use standardized markings, distinguishing between those captured from the front lines and those used in factory testing. This is the only way to ensure proper naming.
Spécial mention for the pps-42 red:
Two version with the same name but without same damage…
They should rename the old version : Pps-42 (Stalingrad Red)
Man, this game is such a mess when it comes to stuff like that. Insane amount of names are incorrectly spelled, especially German ones, eg. Ercih instead of Erich etc. But we know that they can do that as they’ve standarized MKb rifles naming a few months ago.
