Stalingrad is a somewhat fun campaign (although this is a subjective opinion, of course) especially since it comes from one of my favorite periods of the Second World War but it is absolutely ruined by what feels like an awful pacing issue caused primarily by the distance at which some teams spawn.
Ignoring other problems like weapon balancing, right now the game seems to heavily skewer towards attackers - whether it’s the Allies or Axis attacking, they seem to spawn a lot closer to the objective by default than Defenders (again, regardless of which faction is defending) who will often times spawn 130-150 miles away.
However, for some insane reason, rally points can be built as close as 30 miles away from the objective for one side - I noticed in the Communist street map, one of the capture points can allow Attackers to just dunk a rally point practically outside of the CP’s main entrance, but a capture point or two later and suddenly Defenders can… build it right outside of the point they’re meant to defend. Why are these so inconsistent? For context, a majority of maps on other campaigns have universal min. distances for rally point construction. (i.e Airfield - Normandy wont let you build a RP less than 50 miles away from the objective, both as axis and allies).
I think the campaign would be better balanced if these two problems were looked into and ironed out. We can sit here the whole day talking about why every Soviet player wants to be the next Vasily Zaitsev or how the one german player with an MKb32(H) squad who isn’t playing the objective/contributing to this team at all is somehow the reason why you’re losing every match you queued up for.
Deuces.
