Stalingrad: Meta guns behind paywall

AVT, MKB, PPSH with drum are not available to free to play accounts…

Lets reconsider this pls, yes I invested into this campaign, but having the best gear only available to ppl who spent money is “literally pay to win” without a doubt.

There has to be a better way to implement this new system.

The trophy weapons for example could have been a “only payed players” thing and ppl would spend money for ppsh on german side, or MKB on soviet side… but straight up denying ppl to even get these weapons AT ALL will hurt the game 100%.

There is zero reason why a free to play guy “would” and “should” even play stalingrad at all.

I wouldn’t mind paying for cosmetics, but this is simply ridiculous. Why would a new player pay 30 euros to play a campaign where the best weapons are blocked and where the one who pays is better?

I am pretty sure stalingrad is intended for paying customers. And that you can play half of it for free is pretty much just for people to test it before they buy

My memory might be fucking with me but i am 80% sure that they said some long ass time ago that they would make atleast 4 free campaigns, and then test out some paid stuff after that

And since almost all the new/good stuff is payed for, I would consider the campaign more pay to play than pay to win

the way you question and answer yourself on a single sentence was remarkable

Right, then the change, because a new player who does not have the economic resources, or who simply does not like to be buying video game things, would play Stalingrad?

but that is kinda weird issnt it? like its a f2p game ,with a not f2p game inside of it.

I overall dont understand the motive behind this, like as if that would make more money… honestly the best way to finance this game would be with working cosmetics and unique but not OP premium units.

Darkflow isn’t a charity company who offer everything for free. It’s just different profit making model.

Four campaigns (Moscow, Normandy, Berlin and Tunisia) are F2P. But not Stalingrad. It’s more like DLC.

haha, so that they earn the money in a way that they don’t kill the game. That when I invite a friend to a ‘‘free’’ game I don’t want to tell him: I don’t play that campaign, there is pure bot and people with their package of 30 euros. And make no mistake, spending on a game is not bad, but that spending is what matters, I do not plan to pay 30 euros for a package that is not really worth it, but pay for the battle pass or for the premium account if it is an option.

there is srsly no need for batlepass in stalingrad tho.
and i dont know about you, but i m actually on a point i dont even need premium anymore.its just mostly for the 10th slot tbh. if and only, if they keep adding 2-3 levels per 3 months on every major update.

also, if i was a new player, srsly, i rather waste 30 euros once on stalingrad, than wasting months to level everything else + premium + batlepass on other campaigns
but thats just me.

Again, no one force you to play only Stalingrad. You still have 4 other campaigns that are completely free to play. Think it as a DLC, if you want more content beside 4 given campaigns, you pay. But you can still taste how Stalingrad is like without paying.

bruh i get that you are mad right now, but 4 out of 5 campaigns are completely free
its a f2p game with extra paywalled content for those interested

i might sound like an asshole now but so be it
why do you feel like the devs owe you anything? there are 4 completely free campaigns, that they are still expanding constantly, with hundreds of hours of gameplay. and when they release a mostly copypaste testing ground for 30 bucks (that you can try out half of for free), you get pissed off because daddy darkflow only lets you do 90% of what a big and expensive dev team created, without you paying. i am sorry but shit costs money, and the amount of content you get in this game without spending a single penny is baffling. and you guys are spoiled af because of it.

and also, the one time 30 bucks you pay for stalingrad is not even nearly as bad as the other borderline predatory monetization practices in the rest of the game.

(after writing this: yeah i sounded like an asshole, but it needed to be said)

uncle, do you think I downloaded the game yesterday or what? I already have all the levels completed in the other campaigns. And of course… I will enter Stalingrad, see how beautiful the maps are, and then I see those who bought their package of 30 euros with their pshh and their squads full of SMG and I here with my mp 40 as a poor devil no? the only alternative would be to leave the game and pray that in the next one I will touch people who have not paid right? that seems like a good gaming experience to you?

makes sence. actually understandable.

I never said that I think that way, its just that I already lost some of my mates, and this stalingrad “dlc” thing is just kinda weird to me.

Well of course we could go ahead and call f2p Stalingrad a “demo” version of the campaign, but never the less… IF it is playable for free but only those who pay are allowed to use S Tier stuff, while the rest will be stuck with A Tier stuff … well then we already got pay to win per definition, it is just simply an advantage, and I really really believe this can backfire and hurt the game.

although i do admit it might be in a grey area in between p2w and p2p for some people. i would still very much consider this a pay to play, since it isnt just the best stuff that is behind a paywall, but rather half the unlocks are locked behind a paywall, including alot of the new stuff. if you cant play the campaign as intended by the devs without paying, thats p2p

i dont quite see how this will hurt the game. all the stuff that was available this season, is still available (and even expanded upon) in the next season. i guess you could make the argument that they would have gained more from making it free (unfortuately we dont have stats so that would be just speculation). but the way i see it, it will in no way negativly impact the game. unless i am overlooking something, which is possible

In clash of clans and clash royale you can pay and get things right away, but if you are cheap like me, and don’t want to spend money, you can still find the grinding a funny experience, like an end game goal.
All that grinding is also spiced up by extra events and bonuses on holidays and so on.
and that is a mobile game.

i am not fine with this kind of “premium” thing this game is implementing.

they got people to pay money to play a game that would’ve been released for free after 2 months.
they got this golden pass thing going on.
ppl literally throw moneys away with extreme ease, so i think the devs are already making more money than what they deserve for a good, but still in alpha game.

i am a heavenly pro and i love the most basic bolt action rifles and guns in the game, so i am fine with having OP paywall gun, simply because i wouldn’t use them.

BUT if character customization will be another paywall then i swear i will drop the game.
it is taking me forever to level up, and the pace at wich i level up can already be considered a paywaall.
i am still going simply because i am not after any tank or weapon. (even tho i would like to try the 3 turreted soviet tank).
i don’t think this game needs extra premium things going on…

I don’t know, looking at what is available for F2P players, it doesn’t seem all that bad to me, they give you everything you really need to succeed. You get multiple smgs, semi auto rifles, radiomen, lmgs, grenade launchers, flamethrowers. I can’t talk about vehicles because I never use them but for infantry I’m not sure what else you need. The only issue I have is giving a STG to troopers, that seems insanely stupid.

Clearly they are going after something similar to the ‘‘free’’ variant of RO2 Heroes of Stalingrad, where players who had bought the singleplayer version could access the multiplayer but only play with rifles.
Terrible scheme for this game though, and it will hurt the playerbase in the mid and long term after the initial hype is gone.

Well, it seems like the Pacific theatre will be done in a similar fashion then.
