Stalingrad - discussion

I have recently re-started playing Stalingrad as I have my T34 in Moscow now, but don’t use it… anyway I digress.

Stalingrad has some of the best street to street fighting in the game, Berlin is short range, full autos, Stalingrad is flanking and cover fire and tactical advance, at least when I play.

When it’s raining on that map, I really feel like I’m there, it is amazing, so immersive.

The Axis planes are good each in their own way, the Romanian hvy fighter has good bombs, bf109 standard fighter with bombs too. Same goes for allies, p40, Boston is very maneuverable, but front canon is awful so have to be very careful.

Bombers from air raid, with HE buff I can take 1-2, damage three, but they might continue flying…

I don’t get what the new t34 gives us, a little more road speed, at the cost of amour? Shall I stick with STZ?

The new mode on Stalingrad is brilliant takes some thought and tactical play to win.

Right, finally my only 2 gripes, the same map over and over from different angles can be a bit grating please devs, give us a nother map or 2 for Stalingrad campaign. the balance changes are great to guns, but make deployment easier / better than it is now please.

I’m really curious about the newest t34 too. I also think there’s some mistake in it’s stats. It says front hull has 100mm armour, like the stz. I’m not certain it’s accurate and I’m not sure which t34 I should use.

Apart from that, I like Stalingrad. It’s balanced. It’s fun. But like @Shiivex said: more maps please. There’s so many ironic locations I want to fight in.

I’m also really enjoying it. Having paid in, I gotta admit the quick grind is so much fun. I am able to max out both sides in a reasonable amount of time which adds variety. But Yes definitely! The devs have a good turn around time with adding content. I’m hoping for a couple of new Stalingrad maps in the near future. They gave a shout out to the guy who made this very detailed and interesting post as well; City of Stalingrad appreciation post - #12 by 98547181 which reassures us they are well aware of these parts of the city

The STZ is the better tank for Stalingrad.

The mobility offset of the new T-34 model implemented by the devs creating vehicles has been defeated in concept by their peers making maps before the code was even integrated within the game.

Despite appearing “relatively” clear, there is some horrendous pathing on most Stalingrad steets so your tank will tend to zig-zag between obstacles as you try to move to an ABF position which is relatively unobstructed - so any speed advantages are negated off the start line (esp if the RNG system spawns your tank in a shit spot) and it gets worse from there.

Current cluttering (for immersive effect) by old wrecks, anti-tank obstacles or other LOS obstructions, has not been properly tested and serves to congest the battlespace within minutes of any game starting.

And that’s before the bombing/art begins its re-decorations - after that its rally driving through craters and mounds of rubble festooned with the aforementioned tank wrecks, anti-tank obstacles and any new player tanks destroyed whilst trying to navigate this mess.

This! Stalingrad is so relaxing to play due to the great progession. It hurts everytime when I change to the other campaigns and want to level up my 3 star units.

It is the absolut other way for me. I hate Stalingrad for the barricades and obsticals everywhere in the way. But in Berlin I can fight Tactical fight at the most maps.

Spot on.
Having speed as advantage on a map where you always need to avoid getting stuck is near irrelevant.

Ayyy I do hope they add more maps. And more variety to the Loud Speakers. Or else I will find my way in Univermag and quote the German propaganda by heard if they send me back with time machine right now.
