Best was the stg, hipfiring. If someone stood 5m from you, chances were… he’d be absolutely fine as you had sprayed everywhere BUT where you wanted . Really depicted what panic shooting looked like.
I think this needs to be taken with a bit of caution. I already feel that stalingrad is turning into a campers paradise where nobody wants to attack because everyone is too damn busy hiding in some corner one shotting people. There’s some MF hiding in a rubble 200m away, blam you are dead. It’s a very different experience and quite frankly not super appealing to me. Many of the maps like Normandy beaches would turn into absolute unfun hell for attackers.
Playing other campaigns except Stalingrad again, yep the rifles feel weaker but the weapons overall feel more balanced. Rifles when fully upgraded still kill decently often on first shot. SMGs are lethal at close ranges, MGs are actually useful.
In stalingrad, the automatic weapon recoil is crap. Rifles are too powerful in CQC in comparison to SMGs, as frequently you get the first shot in but still get one-shotted. MGs are borderline useless.
So, from my perspective:
- Boosting rifle lethality might be OK on medium distance, however slight decrease from Stalingrad.
- Unupgraded stock rifles should be substantially weaker than they are at the moment in Stalingrad, increased lethality level should only apply to upgraded guns.
- Auto weapons work the way they do in other campaigns
The only other alternative is to completely rework rifle shooting - eg. that your dispersion goes to hell if you are not holding your breath while shooting beyond 50m and absolutely does that when rapid firing in quick succession.
