We all know that barbwire can get annoying, especially when you are getting hooked on friendly wire or trying to shoot through a window with wire. When there needs to be some kind of barrier but you also need to be able to shoot through.
(While I still really think an option for sandbag windows needs to be a thing, that is a different subject.)
SUGGESTION:
If looking above a previously placed barbwire with another one in placement mode, it will let you build “wire fences”. The same thing that is seen in some campaigns like Moscow.
These fences would no longer have the barbwire effect of slowing down and damaging characters, but rather function as a barrier that cannot be WALKED through, but can be SHOT through.
Still treat it as 2 different structures in terms of health and breakdown. Meaning if the top one is destroyed, the bottom one reverts back to standard barbwire form. However, if the bottom one is destroyed, like any fortification sitting on a destroyed object, the top would break as well.
- Allow these to be built in windows, but perhaps not DIRECTLY in doorways (if enough room between the doorway and the wire is present that a character can walk through, its fine), as AI are far less likely to traverse through windows, and you don’t want AI jammed up in a doorway completely unable to pass.
This could solve a LOT of problems in one go.
(No more need to get caught on friendly barbwire and take damage!)
