Squad selection during match start

Got a lil question here, dunno if anyone can answer it (maybe @Euthymia07 ? She’s very good at this)

During the 30 prep time at the start of a match, say player “A” and player “B”, both choose “fighter pilot” as starter squad.

What factor decides which player will be able to start with it, letting the other having to choose another squad?

Is it:

  • First come first serve? (Doesn’t look like it, some ppl logging after, sometimes get it)
  • best ping?
  • highest rank? Highest squad lvl or campaign? Somehow doubt it)

Or

  • Is it simply completely random with everyone having equal chances, like a lottery?

I wonder if anyone knows.

I wasn’t sure. Wanted to test new event plane, and since it’s so new, everybody wants to as well.

Never seem to be able to start with it, even if I’m the first joining a match.

(It IS a great plane afterall)

It is indeed, despite its main selling point (the fire tank) being useless AF.

About it, I didn’t get to try it much in match, mostly in practice range.

How long does the fire burns? I’m not certain if it’s due to really bad rendering over distance (which makes strafing a bad idea), but the fire seems to die almost instantly when seen from up there…
