Are any of the M8 Greyhound squad or the Thompson M1928 squad worth buying since they are relatively cheap?
Greyhound is a gimmick… you will get one in here praising it for bias reasons (don’t feel offended… that’s a fact)… you have an open top and terrible cannon that’s only use is for fighting tanks… with a wheeled vehicle you also have less maneuverability with the advantage of having a better speed… which can be fun on open maps like tunisia… however it’s only for novelty which since you’re asking how good it is you probably won’t find that usefulness in it.
Thompson USMC used to be a good choice before they made m1a1 BR2… it does have better sights though and your engi is equipped with an smg which is cool… but with the downtier of m1a1 thompson not really worth picking up… a good squad if you want the premium bonus though and will actually be effective in battles, unlike the greyhound… much better choice using the stuart.

If you like it and have the money, any unit is worth it; however, you have the opportunity to test each unit and vehicle to see if you like them or not.
Putting that aside, if you want a good unit that works on any map, the paratroopers with Thompson from BR5 are god.
However, if you want a vehicle, utility, premium points, and an attached infantry unit all in one, go for the APCs.
Got all those…was looking at the ones for Independence Day minus the Colt Monitor.

I’d say the M1928 USMC Tommy is one of the better prem squads in its BR
Easy to control recoil (literally just pull down) and a monstrous ROF, yes it has a small magazine size but pick 2x reload perk and you should still be fine
If you’ll ever buy something out of this sale, it has to be this USMC tommy and the Calliope

I have both. The Thompson M1928 is definitely worth it. The Greyhound? Meh, it’s ok, and if it is cheap enough, but I buy a lot of meh squads because they are cheap. SInce I already own them both, I cannot see the price, but I would give thumbs up definitely on the Thompson squad.
They’re rarely squads that they offer that I can buy since they keep regurgitating the same ones over and over and I already have all they offer, and to be honest, I have bought too many squads since the vast majority of them sit unused because either the weapons suck, or I just have better squads at the BR level they are stuck in because I can’t change the weapons. However, I don’t feel too bad since the vast majority of squads I have bought over the years were on sale.
