I want to easily switch between my loadouts for each BR without needing to further micromanage individual soldiers’ equipment.
Almost every time I want to play with my friends, we inevitably sink 2-5 minutes reconfiguring our squads so that everyone is on the same BR. This completely dwarfs the actual queue time we experience.
This is a big time-suck especially when moving around limited/FOMO gear like battlepass guns and swords, and even moreso for squads frequently reused between BRs, such as guerillas and APCs.
Making squad presets remember equipment and vehicles would dramatically reduce that admin/wait time and get us all into battle faster.
I voted yes, but I understand it’s not simple coding. What if you’ve sold the weapon one soldier had, or you have assigned it to another soldier of a different squad? Everything can be managed, but it’s not easy coding, and meanwhile we miss also some much simpler things like “disarm squad”.
Missing equipment is already taken into account by the existing soldier preset system.
In those, if the player applies a preset including unique items which are all in use elsewhere, a prompt appears asking to apply the preset without it. If the missing equipment can be purchased, a prompt appears asking if the player would like to buy it.
I don’t know what is happening behind the scenes, and everything in software is easier said than done, but it is not a large logical stretch to apply this interaction to multiple soldiers.
If it’s too much to code removing those conflicting items from their current soldiers, a player could always choose to disarm reserve before applying a squad preset.
Yes, you summed it up better than I did. I would have included the fact that its just the soldier system but for squads and therefore simple to implement.
