Squad Morale

Add a morale meter for the squad which is depleted whenever you give the squad an order but regenerates reasonably quick. Morale is also depleted by death of squadmates, taking fire from heavy weapons, and loss of cap points, but replenishes upon killing enemies, capping objectives, and regenerates faster when near friendly tanks and infantry. Morale gained from kills and caps can “overheal” the morale meter. At morale levels greater than 100% the squad leader would unlock more confident and brazen actions , such as a squad melee charge, walking fire, and more. Think of it as stamina but for your squad’s commands.

It would be cool for a more realistic gamemode.

But current main game is too fast, too casual, we have too few orders and bots are too stupid.
I hate to break it for you but bots are here only to be targets, not an actual tool. Though I wish it would be the other way around. Truth is, enlisted is a ww2 “hero shooter” with minions to farm.

If my bots weren’t so stupid that they get themselves killed in what feels like moments after spawning, this could be an interesting mechanic.

Weird, my bots do not die so fast.

I for one think its actually a REALLY good idea, but more for their overall effectiveness rather than special actions.

Things like using cover and trenches, flanking, using smoke, getting lots of kills, etc would help to keep the morale high. The higher the morale, the more accurate they would be.

This would also help to reduce the instances of players running across open fields and their bots somehow snapshotting people every so often.
As running across an open field and taking a lot of fire and possibly casualties would definitely lower morale and therefore accuracy and such.

However, that same field but using some trenches, smoke, or sandbag walls would help increase morale and make them more useful once they hit the other side.

This ain’t Dawn of War 1, it will never work in a fast paced fps game like Enlisted where your entire squad can get blown to the pieces by a single bomb/rocket/he shell. In a rts mod then sure you could also add cover for the infantry so they would recover morale faster if they stay behind them.

Normandy campaign would like to say something to you about that

Isn’t that the truth!

Unfortunately as Axis I feel like my squad mates are always okay until the moment I goto dig a trench or I leave a bunker to build a blockade or something. Then I come back to the bunker to find them all dead from HE splash :skull:
