You should be able to divide your squad into sub-groups of 2-4 soldiers each. This way, you could order one group to go one place while another follows you, giving players more versatility. THIS SHOULD NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE BE MONETIZED.
in one way, you already can do this by using personal order.
(btw, do anyone use personal order regularly??)

Not regularly, but sometimes they can be useful. This will truly work after AI stops running from its designated location and combat stances will be a thing.

if by regularly you mean wasting time trying in vain to put “random ai dude” in a place only to be ignored by him and later killed by the first enemy smg / lmg pro no scope you find because you were distracted by the “random ai dude” that doesn’t obey your orders, no nobody does it
but its tedious ordering each individual ai
this would streamline it
I do on rare occasions. Not really super effective but more than general orders, plus “You’re too far, orders cancelled”
