#[Should the US tech tree be split into UK and US]
- Yes
- No
This is the main idea I got this video from:
A CommonWealth Tree in Enlisted? Full Breakdown. YT Video by Slakrrrrrr
Now, the idea proposed in the video is to split the current USA tech tree into UK and USA, as to give much more weapon and gameplay variety. This is not about splitting the tree into subtrees, this is splitting the current US tech tree entirely into two separate tech trees, one Commonwealth, and one US
In the video, he goes into the intricate details but the main reason are this:
This first point is the most important one.
-In the video, he already has used real life guns and prototypes to make essentially complete research trees for this divide with each weapon type, complete with stats, BR, and explanation of historical context so for the dev team, the research work is done. He got this information from a reputable source I believe, which is the Vickers MG collection and Research Association’s Patreon, and the Forgotten Weapons Youtube Channel. Half the work is done, just take the leap of faith just like you guys did with the Merge. ![]()

-The US tech tree is really bloated, with a lot of fillers that would be great in a separate research tree, such as having a huge amount of rifles in BR 2 and 3. Not only this, but the US tech tree is so much larger than something like Japan which is inevitable but splitting the current US tree into US and UK trees that are separate would help the imbalance a little. ![]()
-This ties in the previous point but heavy weapon competition is a big issue in these bigger trees. A lot of the time, you have to choose between the USA weapon or the UK weapon and often one is just better so you end up having to use that one. I am not expert on this since I play Germany but just looking at the tech tree it is things like the Grease gun vs the Lanchester, the Lanchester is just better, the Sniper Lee Enfeild vs the Sniper Garand, the Sniper Enfield is just better. I’m not saying UK is better or UK bias shit but these are just examples I thought up from the top of my head. ![]()
-This would make campaigns make a lot more sense since the US and UK did fight in some different fronts. By making the battles each tree fights in a bit more accurate, all the people crying about how the campaign system before the merge was better get what they want in a way.![]()
-This would be much better for the long term health of the game since, by creating more research tress, you create more space to put new weapons, planes, or vehicles and give more play ability long term for more committed players who are probably going to spend money on the game. I’m looking at you Gaijin.![]()

-This is part of the previous point but since there is so much more space in the tech tress, Gaijin and Darkflow might actually start adding weapons that would be really good for the tech tree, into the tech tree instead of a premium or event weapon. For example, why is the Type 97 AT rifle with the HEAT shell not tech tree? Japan literally has no tech tree AT weapon at BR 4 that is unique and has a barren tech tree overall, so why would you make the Type 97 HEAT launcher a event weapon? However, this ideal scenario is probably unlikely considering it’s Gaijin lol. ![]()
-The other thing is that since this is a fan made idea( by Slakrrrrrr), the specifics are not set in stone.
-Please note, this will also make the company more money from selling more possible premium items overall and creates more loyal experienced players as they just have more trees to grind and more content to unlock while giving new players even more options. ![]()
To be fair, the only way this topic actually does anything is if it has thousands of likes and zero dislikes since big game companies like this rarely do anything dramatic unless it looks like it will make everyone happy and no one unhappy so if you actually care about this and want this to happen, don’t get your hopes up. ![]()

And last thing, this is also related to splitting the German tech tree into Germans and Italians but Slakrrrrrr only mentions this in his video and didn’t actually do any research on what would go into those specific trees, just thought I would mention that.
